Does the LA base include SNA as well?

The lines are combined. For November included 14 for SNA I think. And they go senior but I hear that changes. Once you can get an open flying line you can trade w/ open time and try to get more SNA trips.

Baja.

Is the 737 training based on a non-efis -400 with differences later, or is it 737ng training?

(I was considering doing some ordering some study materials before class).

Thanks-

BTW- I doubt they're putting any more newhires in the mad-dog, right?

In my new hire class 6 years ago, some of us got trained on the 400, and others in the NG. Later we got differences training. Bottom line, you could get either one.

Training right now is 8 per class with 4 going into each sim (-400 and NG). FO on FO training until the LOFT.

Systems class is all NG based with a 1-day differences class somewhere in the mix.

Good luck.

You could end up in the MD-80. It is all about what other people bid who work here. There is almost always in-fill after a reduction where more people bid off of it then the number of reduced positions. If you get any book on your own, get Bill Bulfers book " 737 ASA Cockpit Companion" that is customized for Alaska Airlines. Get the on that is in color and is punched for a 7 hole binder(about 50.00). It is a great systems book and the training department has 12 of their own copies that they use as reference material. http://fmcguide.com/Detail.bok?no=5

Tico-
Thanks for that link...I missed it. I almost went with the AvSoft one.

So you think there is a chance that newhires could get assigned the mad-dog, eh?

Does anyone know when the most recent newhire class had mad-dog awards?

Thanks All!

if you look at the seniority list with the bid awards it looks like 2nd NOV class will be 5 ANC and 3 LAX... I think I heard no DEC class so the next class in JAN would be 2 LAX and 5 MD83 SEA. If you look over the past couple of bids they have stayed true to the bid award in order of seniority. I guess the big question is if they need the MD training slots or not? If they do and your in JAN class I think you could plan on 5 MD slots in your class.

...and for the Nov 26th class? (my class)
...gee, I hope I don't have to wait for January now.
