Saw this gem in the FAA accident prelims today. Could this be the end of a certain problem-causing pilot's career at Amflight? Talk amongst yourselves.

I don't see anything in the report about who the pilot was. What do you know that I don't?

I think the accident pilot is a TDY and a newbie, and therefore probably not who you think it is. Either way that's not a very cool post.

One does wonder what happened to the checklist or any of the several gear/down 3 green calls outlined in AMF approach procedures.

45014, while having been upgraded to ugly from extremely ugly, was by far the fastest PA31 I have ever flown.

AMF Gear Up

I'd take that bet on any odds ...

Note to self: don't post after taking hydrocodone with a glass of wine. That there's some good stuff. While I don't wish ill will on any other pilot it would have been sweet revenge for all those trips to Pampa I had to do because someone couldn't get their plane started. That was assuming it was the pilot I thought it was, which it apparently wasn't, so disregard. Did they at least have the decency to just put it down once they realized the gear was up? Heard a Chieftain driver in SEA or PDX went around after the props hit because the wheels were up. Not good.

Yep thats the trooth. I had to go pick him up and he rode with me back to PDX with three stops. I kinda felt like a jerk every time I put the gear down and did a landing checklist. Sucks to have to hang out with a dude you know can't get his mind off the fact that he's gonna get fired tomorrow. Super nice guy though, I hope things worked out for him.

I can't imagine how terribly uncomfortable and sad that must have been. It could easily happen to any of us at any time. Hope he lands on his feet.
