I don't think that's the case at all....I've been reading his posts too, and I know him personally....he's not based there
I just left AWAC.
The pilot group is great, the contract is great, the union guys work very hard for you.
Management has basically declared war on the pilots and contract. When I left the union was being swamped with grievances. Management was beignining to totally disregard the cotnract.
Just a Jay and Silent bob joke.
And I thought guys here at xjt were wound to tight....wow.
...
A sick call is classified as an UNEXCUSED ABSENCE. This is just begging for a lawsuit IMO. Four in a 12 month period will get you a cup of coffee with your domicile manager, 7 or more will get you fired (supposedly). Don't think they're willing to go that far (yet).
....
Sounds like XJET. I'm not kidding.
Talk to people in the business world. It's the same thing.
At least we have the option to commute rather than move.
Interesting...Rankin has made that same argument to crewmembers more than once. The only problem with that is in the "business world", you not only get your move paid for but you often get a cost of living adjustment to your salary.
Thank goodness for that; many of our pilots who have families in the midwest can't afford to move out east. From www.bankrate.com:
ATW-DCA: 39% higher COL
ATW-PHL: 29% higher COL
ATW-ORF: 9% higher COL
DEN-DCA: 32% higher COL
DEN-PHL: 23% higher COL
DEN-ORF: 4% higher COL
ORD-DCA: 13% higher COL
ORD-PHL: 6% higher COL
ORD-ORF: even cost of living
If you get bent over backwards and make excuses for it, perhaps you should find a new job. No sense feeling like you're getting f**ked all the time. That's silly.
