Is Mitch Mitchelson the only common player in management? I would be interested to know if any of the local news media is aware that this scumbag is trying to get back into the flight training business at the same airport.

ATA/Discover Air
Tab Express
SimPlex

This guy has quite a track record.

Glad someone had it posted, I was just coming on here to do the same. Mitch goes back to pre ATA/Discover, ATA 1 was what is now Comair academy (they were on the verge of or in bankruptcy and sold out to Comair) . The williams family was the main force in that and another incarnation in south florida I think, then the ATA/Discover Air deal. Mitch was involved from the begining.

This place has stolen mucho money and ruined many just starting careers. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!! Spend 1/3 the money and go to ATP or your loacal FBO and get the same ratings and the same regional job. The regionals are hurting for people you don't need to spend mucho money at all. -kingaira90

Just

Just STAY AWAY!!!!

From the FAQ on their website

Q. Why 61 training as opposed to 141 training?
A. SIMplex operates under the FAA's part 61 training program. Here is a comparison. The 141 curriculum was designed years ago for the VA so veterans of the military would have a government-approved program and the government could fund the training. Most schools still operate under 141 so they can offer funding for student training. Lending institutions that issue government-backed loans are required to have government-approved curriculum; hence 141. The 141 curriculum is a good curriculum; it's just not tailored towards the airlines or the professional corporate world. It is a recreational-based training program built around 172 and Seneca-like aircraft. The 141 curriculum is 190 hrs and there are no job opportunities for pilots with 190 hours. SIMplex curriculum is airline and corporate based and we use King Air turbine aircraft for training. SIMplex 61 training is 250 hrs and employers will accept those hours as training for multi-commercial instrument ratings.
You have got to be kidding me! Recreational pilots?? This is completely untrue!
Q. Do I need flight instructor ratings to be hired by an airline?A. The answer is no -- most regional airlines don't require flight instructor ratings. 1200 hours teaching in a 172 and Seneca doesn't develop multi-crew Cockpit Resource Management (CRM) skills. Flying 1.3 miles a minute for 1200 hours and then transitioning to a regional jet flying at 7 miles a minute is a big transition.
HAHAHAHA!

Whoever wrote the FAQ section must have about a 5th grade education and has no idea of how the aviation industry works. LOL
