Any corporate officer has the responsibility to protect the company from liability. If Colleen, or any person in management, did not set and enforce strict guidelines, the company itself could/would be held liable for anything one employee did to another. May not be right, but that is the world we live in today. Colleen would be grossly irresponsible in her role as president if she did not set forth those guidelines. Which by the way are the same at everyother company (airline or not) in the United States today.

Easy there, Mr. Juan. I've tried to respond three times and each time I write more and more. Screw it. If you are sensitive, you should be the one apologizing and not everyone else.

Try these first: Get laid, drink more, make more friends (unlike yourself, of course), have some kids, and lather, rinse, repeat. If that doesn't work, I think it's terminal.

Colleen has contributed much, but was and is not a President. She is a nice lady, but no friend of the pilot. She is great at giving out awards, but a liability and everybody knows it. Gary is a machine. Herb will live forever, I hope.

By the way, what a worthless and irrelevant dig on civilians and needless military chest thumping. We get it. Military guys are better than we are and fly better and get more ass and dogfight a mean watch. I am a civilian and unworthy..........got it. I mean we are just lucky to be here. About 10 years ago, or so, SWA caught a rash of sh!t over a FA that was wearing a crucifix outside of her uniform and was reading a bible on the jumpseat. I can't remember if she was fired or threatened with it. I made the news and SWA had to change their uniform policy as a result of all the bad press. That's actually not the entire story.

As I remember and was told by some friends, she was also preaching to people on the jumpseat and trying to convert them, to the point that many were becoming tired of listening to her and her apparently judgmental version of Christianity (as my FA friends told me). Her co-workers complained about her behavior. When you're on a jumpseat with somebody, you have something of a captive audience, so despite repeated requests, this lady continued her preaching from the jumpseat. Quite frankly, I would have found it offensive and annoying as well.

I don't know the outcome, but as usual, the press only got the story half right. Be careful before you go rushing to judgment. SWA can't and won't tell the whole story to the press since it involves employee disciplinary issues. So they're left to look like the bad guys, while this FA whines that she's being targeted for her religious beliefs. Just ain't so.

LOL. If you guys think SWA is overly PC, then I'd suggest you go work a day in corporate America. You'd realize that SWA is actually pretty laid back compared to most large companies.

I don't like excessively PC policies, either, but don't go blaming them on Colleen. She's just watching out for your profitsharing by making sure the company doesn't get themselves sued. And after several Supreme Court rulings over the past 15 or so years, it's easier than ever for a company to be sued by an employee who claims that the company cultivated or allowed an environment of harassment and discrimination to exist.

I respect you, Gup, but check your facts on this one. The finger shouldn't be pointed at Colleen.

Where do you draw the line, then? What if she was praying? What if she was asked "whatcha readin?" What if an FA makes a comment about Bush, the war, the poor choices of beer on SWA? Would they discipline her equally? At all? This kind of stuff happens everywhere. How many times have you heard someone pull the "race card" to save their job? I've heard it several times. Never hear about that in the press, do you?

I grant you the press never gets it 99% right, but SWA has an image as the "fun loving" airline. You'd think they would do what's necessary to spin this in their favor.
