hey newwoman,

how come you cant answer the question about your interview at Continental? Are you going to tell the interviewer about you hatred of unions? You say that all you have to do is tell the interviewer what they want to hear? In order to have a pilot certificate one has to be of good moral judgement. Do you think that lying to the interview team meets that qualification?
How come you are applying to another airline? is it because they have better pay and work rules? if so, how do you think those came about?

simple questions...

thanks

Hellownewwoman is interviewing at CAL? Well, he should fit in real well with about 800 of them.

OUCH...........

Truth hurts. I am sure Newman will try and look and sound like rank and file to weasel his way in - then pray to the almighty that noone finds out who he really is - what a tool.

What about his promised BBQ in ORD? I guess he can't do that if hee's at CAL and sucking up to the Union guys there. Good Riddance!

Unfortunately, giving a whole thread to a POS like newman only gives him the attention he's not getting at home!

Did he even say he was interviewing there? I know people were speculating that he was interviewing there because it was a union carrier.

Either way. You Die Hard ALPA guys. How do you feel about your ALPA brothers hiring GoJet guys? I know of 3-4 guys that moved on from GoJet to CAL.

So how does a GoJet'er move onto CAL, an ALPA carrier?
And you can't use the answer "They lied on their resume, saying they flew for TSA."

It doesn't surprise me, considering that CAL has several SCABs doing interviews for them. Just looking out for their own.

How do you know them? You spend a lot of time hanging out with these scumbag job-stealers?

These guys do all the interviewing over there?

How would you personally know that they are doing any interviews at all?

They're former co workers of mine. I went to a party last night, and heard word that they had all moved on to CAL from GJ.

PCL_128 get over yourself. If I were a PCL pilot, I would be embarrassed by you. To think, that you have the odasity to take my Union representation number, and make it your own personal screen name on here FI.com.
You do not represent your entire pilot group by yourself, and you do not speak for the Union, by yourself. Especially here on FI.com. I highly suggest you change your screen name. I would hate for someone to mistake any of your comments, as comments coming from the PCL Pilot Union group. Your thought and opionions are your own, and should not be misconstrued, as your Unions because of YOUR screen name.

Well if you are too dumb to realize that he is NOT the "spokes-person" for the entire PCL pilot group....then you don't deserve to breathe Oxygen!

On a side note....if JackAZZ neWOMAN becomes a Continental Pilot....the WORLD is coming to an end! :puke:

Exactly.

Not a die-hard ALPA guy, but I have volunteered for my MEC and LEC.

Just wanted to point out that most often, line pilots do not hire other line pilots - human resources representatives do. Unless there is a Captain's Board or candidate names are posted for employees to comment on, there is no medium by which for current employees to object to the hiring of another.

Good for your former coworkers (Chicago Express, right?) that have moved on, and I seriously mean that. I'm sure their goal was PIC time and progress...I just wish they hadn't done that on the backs of TSA pilots. After 2 years of working for Hulas with no contract, I'd want the hell out of there too...

are you sure? I've interviewed at 3 airlines, and at each one there was at least one line pilot that interviewed me at some point, along with an HR rep. they were as follows

1-line pilot and HR rep
2-line pilot and HR rep
3-3 line pilots and one HR rep

at any one of these I could have been nixed by the line pilot.

Your experiences are different than mine, then; I only once saw a line pilot during my interview process. Management pilots, now that is another story entirely!

Either way, my point was Average Joe Lineholder doesn't have any pull on who gets hired or not...

I see. understood.

I think that at any airline, however, you can email the HR rep and say something like 'I heard this guy was interviewing. In my opinion, he's a tool' or something to that effect, and he wouldn't do too well.

That very well may be...but how is one to know someone of ill repute is interviewing unless they personally know them or there is a list of names posted? Other than Southwest, does anybody else post an interview list?

On a side note....if JackAZZ neWOMAN becomes a Continental Pilot....the WORLD is coming to an end! :puke:
But GoJet pilots have already gotten on at CAL. These guys were the ones who were considered as "scabs" by most people, especially ALPA guys.
So how have they got hired on?

They interview with a line pilot and HR rep, all that line pilot has to do is bad mouth him, and he doesn't get a job. So why isn't the tight nit brotherhood working?

Boiler, when I interviewed at my airline it was a IOE checkairman and regular line captain. They go back at the end of the day and tell HR people Yay pr Nay....I'm sure it's different everywhere.

Are you refering to the SCABS over there? Kind of like the SCAB you paid down at GIA to get your flying career? How much did you give him? You're quick to pull the trigger on others, but forget quickly where you came from and what you did, just to get your "dream job" of flying a Jet.

So I am curious. How much money did you spend down at GIA, to get on with PCL?

Yes, Airtran puts up a list in their crew lounge of pilots up for interviews and lets any and all line pilots comment either positive or negative things about those people. Frankly I think all airlines should do this. It's a small enough community that collectively we ought to be able to do a little tool-control.

so how come newwoman cant answer the question...i have no ide if its CAL, i just assume becuase I think (i dont know for sure becuase i dont want to work there and I dont want to take the time to check the mins) they dont require PIC time. and some consider it a major airline. anyway, i dont care if he goes there or not, i am leaving OO and where i am going requires pic time so he wont be senior to me.

congrats on moving on. where are you going to?

This is a great idea, but it would suck to have the same name as a hated man.
They should have the pilots name, and which airline he is coming from, especially places like GIA and TAB.

That's a good point. Also, the system isn't fool proof, by any means. One of the worst pilots I've ever had the pleasure of flying with managed to get on at Airtran without getting the thumbs down. When I saw this person in an Airtran uniform I immediately called some buddies over there to ask why said person was hired. ALL of them responded, "what??!?!? If I had know that name was on the list I would have made damn sure ____ hadn't gotten on!" So you see, for the system to work, good communication is the key.

You've got to be kidding!

Seriously....
I really like the idea of doing that list, but how long has Air Tran been doing this? The super-ultra-mecha-king of all tools at ASA got hired there about a year or so ago. EVERYONE hated this guy, and a lot of people who knew what an idiot he was were flying there already. It would be a surprise to know that he got past a "tool list"

True fact,
But they man the sims and do lots of line checks and observations, and probationary pilots are not immune from the termination without recourse!
Use your imagination, those "coworkers" are not your friend they are the enemy and will stick a spear into your back for any number of reasons, them and their spawn deserve to live in govt. trailers. Fukkem! Welfare is too good for them!

There you go again, making sexual reference towards men. Something you want to tell us? :) just messing with ya!

All I'm saying is that some ALPA guys at the regional level are threatening the future careers of anyone who thinks differently about ALPA. But when these guys who were from Freedoms A-Listers, GoJet and the likes head to the majors, especially majors that are ALPA, they get hired on. We all know Line pilots sit in on the interview, and can sway HR's decisons either way. Why aren't they? It's not like the majors have to hire everyone off the street like the regionals do. They have a nice crop to pick from.

PS
PCL_128 is a GIA troll.
