ASA popped out a F/A

I heard that ASA popped a Flight Attendant out the other day. Pressurized airplane and flight crew asks F/A to open service door. Flight Attendant goes sailing. She is ok. I'm sure scheduling blamed her for the delay.

The Emergency Depress is electrically driven, pneumatically actuated- No vacuum of the 10th stage manifold ventury pump- it won't work. the valves are closed at the gate and it takes vacuum to open them up. You have to open the PASSENGER BOARDING DOOR very slowly to release the pressure through the small flap that opens on the first detent of the boarding handle.

Or shut off the air cart and let the pressure bleed off. You can't open (or crack) the door per section 1.

This reiterates the fact the we all need to keep sharp. Eagle guys doing a no-gear touch and go, Comair guys at LEX, etc. (Yes this one pales in comparison but the basic fact still applies) It can happen to anyone. All it takes in one moment of inattention. If you think it can't, you are diluting the lessons paid for in blood.

Wrong. Go back to school MELIT.

If it was a -700, the EMER DEPRESS would work because the single (1) outflow valve is electrically driven and reqires no vacuum pressure. The -200 requires 10th stage bleed air to drive the jet pump. You wouldn't have that with a low pressure air cart.
