Anybody know the competitive Delta mins?

Depends on what your background is.
Civilian and not part of WIA or OBAP, is at least 4000 hrs with major connections and 5000 with out. Some (500+) PIC turbine. This varies, but everyone in my class that was civilian had 5000 or so +. Some with good connections or had management office jobs at their previous carriers were less due to their job requirements.
Overall it has been at least 6000 hrs with a PIC

Military just mean the mins for that reason. This is why they have the low mins.

I was shocked when I got the interview email last week. Soon to be ex-Navy P-3 driver. TT 3023, TPIC 1749. Will be calling today to set up interview and looking for all available gouge, question banks. Cheers and Good luck!

less than two weeks. I applied when the window opened and had a few people walk my stuff in. I would not use me as a gauge.

Realistically, most that do not get pre-screened or have their stuff walked in are looking at anywhere from a few weeks to six months or more. It really depends on what he is looking for on that day. As you all know Jon Swift is now the 777 Program Manager and Arnie Karby is the new Manager of Pilot Selection. I am sure that there are changes on the way, but to date nothing has really changed. Fact is that I do not know how he is selecting his candidates. I am sure that it is the same way. I have not walked anyones stuff it, but since he has taken over there is more of a shift to looking that the military folks. That said, they are turning a lot of people down. On the other hand I know of 10 guys and gals that are total civilian that just got the call.
Needless to say with 50 per month they will have to interview a lot of people. There are over 8000 applications in the pool right now. It could take some time, unless your given a nudge by a buddy of yours. Best of luck...

Hello,
I wasn't a pilot, but was a career Naval Aircrewman w/3800 hours in the SH-60F/HH-60H and SH-2F. I'm currently a check airman on the Beech 1900 for a regional in the northeast. During my military time I was a NATOPS PO, TYCOM Evaluator and filled various other instructor billets, including WTI on the H-60. Do any of you guys think that is even worth making a big deal of in my resume? I don't have the civilian mins 5000+, but I am close and will have that by the end of the year. I always wanted to fly for Delta from the time I was a kid growing up on Cape Cod and seeing all the Delta airplanes in BOS.

Regards,

ex-Navy Rotorhead

I walked one of my buddies resumes in and he did not make a big deal about a similar military past. When I was asked about what he did prior to 1999, I told them about his military history. The response was, why was that not on his application and resume. The simple answer was that they asked for a ten year employment history. It the military you give what is asked and nothing more. Well, Jon stated that it was very important to have that on the app and resume.
Moral of the story is put it on there and make yourself more well rounded. Delta like many other airlines is hiring more than a pilot. They want to know about you and what you have done. It will hurt no one by adding the info. More than likely it will help. It will show that you wanted to fly because of your Navy past and when and did something about it. It shows drive, patience, and willingness. All attributes that interviewers are looking for.

Thanks for the info. It sounds like I might have sent in my stuff a little early.

So what're the OBAB mins?

Depends on the person and what they bring to the table. At least 2000 ttl from what I am told.
One thing that most do not realize is that DAL types the OBAP and WIA people in the 737-800. It is like a pre interview. Most are very impressive. Most impress the FAA. Those are the ones that get hired. The ones that are not top notch are the ones that do not come on over as pilots.

delta

I was in the Navy as an enlisted sailor. Loved it! Does it matter what kind of flying time? A B1900 Captain?

Does anyone know if I could find out if there are any A-6 Intruder pilots on the Delta seniority list? I am looking for a few?

Why don't other people get the 737-800 type? Seems real fair.

I'm even more shocked. 2000TT, mostly PIC turbine.

I hear at least 5000 posts on FI.com. Minimum. At 8000 posts you're a shoo-in. I don't think I even meet the mins to apply, so I don't have the latest gouge.

;)

I did hear that when Delta buys JetBlue they will interview you as long as you have over 300 posts. You should be OK Blue Dude. :)

Just wanted to thank ACL65PILOT for the wealth of accurate information he provides us here at Flightinfo.

Thanks guys. Just trying to help everyone out.

There will be more interviewing going on than even the rumors are for. Things are really heating up over here on VA. Ave. Finally it is a good time to be Delta.

If it helps, I would gladly interview at JFK...
LOL

Keep up the great work, ACL.

Good luck everyone!
Always
