As someone pointed out-the fuel truck thing was unrelated and happened a long time ago. I was there and saw it. Ugliness....

I also find it curious that I can't find anything on it either.

Yeah, it's from 6 years ago. Never mind that ASA didn't HAVE that aircraft 6 years ago. Don't confuse them with facts.

The ASA ramper pulled out in front of the Delta ramper and they collided. Both came off their tugs and one of the tugs continued on until running into an ASA 70 seater with approx. 60 PAX aboard.

Non-News event.

A 4000 Lb tug hits a 70 seat aircraft with 60 people on board and you consider that a non news event?

funny this thread started with asapilot claiming 2 rampers were dead and it was a company cover-up.

asa management gets blamed for something that never happened. i dont get it. why wouldnt the pilots be told of this!?! a bulletin published? i deserve to know?

accidents happen on the ramp every day - tugs crash, cars hit other cars. it doesnt make the news cause it's not news - wish this would be a lesson to some - i find it hysterical that this thread was started at all.

Does this stuff suprise you about ASA ramp the only employees they have are folks and bloods members, and their education at best is 1st grade, this job allows them to afford the nice apts in the projects!

Maybe you should get your facts straight. I didn't "claim" 2 rampers were dead and I never said a word about a "company cover-up". Perhaps you should re-read the thread. I stated that I had heard this from a fellow pilot and subsequently found evidence of it on the FAA website. I was inquiring as to whether anyone else had any more information.

Whether it's true or not remains to be verified. OhPlease! seems to think s/he has the facts, but I've yet to see anything either way.

I don't claim it's a cover-up or any other management issue. I simply questioned why, if it were true, no one knew about it. crjskipper, we all have a right to know about safety incidents that occur in our area of operation, whether it be rampers or other flight crew. If it was a pilot that got hit by a tug, I'm sure you'd want to hear about it.

A shame you find ramp safety so "hysterical"...

Likewise, I never claimed a coverup. I merely stated that it did not surprise me that ASA management was not quick to publicize an incident that brings to light the many many safety problems that exist on our ramps. I also heard there were two fatalities from another pilot, and the FAA report dated 5/21/07 clearly states there were two fatalities on the ramp on 5/19/07.

You know, there's a lot of things that should make the news every day that don't. Personally I think that a tug hitting a transport catagory aircraft full of people is one of the things that should make the news. I guess you should be working for CNN, since you seem to know everything about what should and should not make the news.

No one was killed. The injuries were pretty much as Oh Please has said. They hit behind the aircraft and the Delta tug took a 90 degree turn and went under the left wing of 753. Agent was still at the aircraft , the pax were deplaned and the ac shutdown. I thought the company did a good job. The people that needed to be there were there and the passengers were moved to another aircraft.

Maybe you are correct, and no one was killed. But you still have not answered how an FAA report, that you claim is from 2001, involved an aircraft that was not built until 2004. You can look that up if you want, 753EV was manufactured in 2004, and was registered to ASA on 10/1/2004. So how exactly was it involved in an incident is 2001?

I don't know why this is so hard for you to understand. The FAA report posted was NOT from 2001. It involved ship 753EV. Was 753EV at ASA or even in existence in 2001? No, it was registered 2004. I guess you were right about the brains part...

I'm not saying the FAA doesn't make mistakes. I'm simply saying that people seem to be talking about two different incidents. Nothing here has explained why this report is on the FAA database as it is.

There weren't 2 fatalities.... I suspect some people are just trying to make the company look bad anyway they can... fabricating fatal injuries really crosses the line...
