Yes, a single stupid act that you did twenty years ago as a kid can get you fired at flight options now. You can't meet the conditions of a foreign govt so now you get fired. In one case flight options misused the canpass authorization and caused the pilot to have his canpass suspended by canada. And now he is subject to termination for the company's mistake. Only two or three owners at Flops actually use the canpass.

It is just another way to get rid of a handful of higher paid pilots. Chip away a few here and a few there so as not to piss off the entire pilot group. One day they will come for you!

Follow the initiatives!
Pay your dues!
ASAP!

Defense contractor Raytheon. American tax dollars at work (or loss of work, in this case). Are any of these pilots veterans?

Even with a DUI there aint no REG says you can't still fly........CANPASS may not want you but a DUI is no real cause for being terminated......

Even with a DUI you ARE ABLE to go to Canada. You must go through the proper channels to get a letter of rehabilitation from Canada. It's not bad, just some paperwork, Money and time.

I'm sure if you contact Canpass they will get you started in the right direction.

Good Luck

Try parking tickets

DUI's, DWI's, Wreckless Op, Fleeing and Eluding, generally the more serious ones. The everyday speeding ticket isn't a show stopper.

Brought a group of passengers into Canada a couple months back and they were detained about 2 hours. One guy had the same name as someone who'd had a DUI. CANPASS asked me about this on the phone before we departed and the agent made me swear that I'd seen his passport and that he had a different passport# from the man in question. They still asked him dozens of questions on arrival just to be sure he wasn't the guy.

Another pax in the same group was almost denied entry. He had unpaid parking tickets from NYC from many years ago. He moved to LA and was unaware that he'd forgot to pay them. He had to arrange to wire the money to the NY authorities from the Canadian customs office before they'd let him in. Amazing that Canada had access to this info when US Customs had never said a word about it.

Now this is a case of Canada overstepping their bounds. To be a collection agency for NY is crazy.

Actually, they did NYC a favor. Got mo $$$ for street repairs.

The U.S./Canada/Mexico is going to be 1 country in the next decade or so anyway. I think its called the North American Union. Ask your local Senator/Representative about it.

Yes and the Dollar will be fazed out in favor of the AMERO. Its a done deal.

You do not have the canpass that FO has. because with a DUI you can not get it even when it has been 26 years ago

He is right. It is a special deal that lets you by pass customs and fly into certain airports (the list isn't very long) without the benefit of a customs visit. Doesn't make sense for most operators and the pax have to have the same clearence...
