Tomclit, you are just one angry, upset shell of a person, you wouldn't be happy if you were miserable.

Quit trying to be a pilot, it's not you.

I've never had a Comair pilot be anything but ultra nice to me. In fact they are FAR more likely to make eye contact and give at least a smile or a nod when passing by in the hallway than my own companies pilots. Try knocking that chip off your shoulder and approaching one of them nicely. You'd be surprised what a good conversation you can have with those folks.

Cheers, Mr. Comair guy!

Thats suprising. Didn't you fly their airplanes during the strike?

I have a good attitude and am nice...so no chip on my shoulder here. I am by far not the only one that thinks this either. Why do you think most of us ASA peeps stay away from the Comair lounge. Seems like it is the older guys that are way more bitter. The younger Comair guys are pretty cool.

Because you flew their planes and routes during the strike!

So I just got back from Flightsafety on a LOFT. That place was crawling with newhire SkyWest guys using the ASA sims. As anybody who has ever spent some time at FSI knows, the break room (especially around the coffee machines) seems to attract pilots. I saw a bunch of SkyWest pilots standing around, so I went over to say hi. I'm exaggerating a little, but not much, when I say that pretty much everybody scattered like they were afraid of me!

Seriously guys, I don't know what y'all were told, but we're not out to get you. I just wanted to say hi and kill some time on break! You don't need to be afraid of us ASA boys and girls, we don't bite.

Just the opposite with the crew I met in the GRB hotel....the ASA pilots didn't say word one to us after trying to start a conversation........the flight attendant was cool at least...

to each their own..............

I believe we did. In spite of all the alpa chest thumping that goes on around here. We're flying some of "their" planes now too. It bugs me to see "CA" N numbers with ASA logos just as bad as seeing "SK" N numbers on "our" 900's.

None of us has ANY control over which planes they put out there on the ramp. Reasonable adults know this. Bratty little children don't.

Still - on point with this thread. Why do the SkyWest pilots avoid ASA pilots? New hires are usually friendly and looking for gouge. SkyWest new hires don't fit the typical airline new hire (whether it is SWA, AAI, or DAL). We are curious, why the difference? What are they telling their new hires to scare them?

After all, we used to fly a good percentage of SkyWest's airplanes. If they have a question, we could probably help - since we put the first several thousand hours on the jets.

Oh' what ASA used to be. Anyone remember the magazine covers, all the airticles about first to operate .... kind of amazing, isn't it?

As an ASA, I find that nobody wants to talk with me. Soooo I talk to myself and even answer myself on occasion. It kind of freaks out the rest of the crew

So I guess it's fair to say those 900's were never "yours" since they were never on property. ASA never bought them.

ASA needs to negotiate scope that binds SkyWest so we can end these "mine" and "yours" arguements.

The only scope SkyWest has is being underpaid for their work. At least ASA has a shot at doing this right. Hopefully they wont blow it.

Riddle me this. Why is ASA always at war with somebody? Comair,Delta and now SkyWest. Comair should be pissed at you for flying struck work in their equipment.

Uh- they were "ours". Hence the EV "N" number that many once had. We had the order in and they were being manufactured for ASA when SkyWest hijacked our airline. Your lower 70/76 rates took our airplanes- it's how the whip saw works. They waved the airplanes in front of ASA pilots and threatened to pull them away if we didn't accept the, then concessionary, contract. We told them to stuff it, and then you guys jumped on the first pay proposal handed to you by management in exchange for growth.

It still makes me laugh to see the 35th anniversary aircraft in SkyWest livery- an airplane you wouldn't be flying if it weren't for us.

For the 10th time I don't work for SkyWest. Since we're on the topic of laughing, You're the one that flew struck work. Why didn't you tell them to "stuff it"? What you did is the ultimate whipsaw!

Its simple, in past times the typical airline interview was a personality test, "do I want to sit next to this guy for 4 days at a time, or would I be willing to sit next to this guy for 8 hours a day?". Most guys/gals came to the "job" with quite a bit more experience than minimums. Today guys/gals who wouldn't even get to the interview are being offered jobs at the interview, having passed by the virtue of 1) showing up with minimums, 2) having a heartbeat, 3) ability to fog a mirror. I have personally flown with some of these newhires, otherwise known as social retards, makes for a long 4 day trip. For the first time in a long time and with much greater frequency, I have been turning the intercom off in cruise and staring at the sun! Skywest is no longer attracting the high quality applicant that it had in the past, don't get me wrong there are some cool qualified people coming on line, there are also plenty of the aforementioned social retards coming online too. Bottom line, dont' take it personal, I dont want your job or airframes, I don't even want my job anymore.

yep. I'd say that was a fair statement. I do konw this though: had you guys not agreed to fly them at sub-par rates, they'd have been ASA's in ATL. It's ok though. He who laughs last, laughs loudest and Skywests time in the barrel will come.

I've never seen a 900 with an EV number. The ones I've seen all have SK.

Thats the standard SKYW attitude that they have! I think Jerry spikes the Koolaid up in SLC to give them this type of arrogance! :angryfire

V1,

Sorry to bust your bubble. No Skywest 900 was ever registered to ASA. They all went directly from a factory Canadian reg, to a Skywest "SK" registration.

Now, the 4 700's kept their EV registration for a while.

For those who insist that they actually saw it, I guess will have to call their aircraft recognition skills into question.

Ah, who cares. Your all bottom feeders.

It was more of a punctuation error. However, considering he forgot the "e" at the end of the contraction, I suppose it also counts as a spelling error.

We're both correct.
I agree, a spelling error on my part!
