we are not going to be released....period. We'll either close the gap during the next round and finish this thing OR we'll continue to be delayed until Delta and Skywest transfer enough planes and routes to Skywest to make the ultimate demise of ASA a NON-event. Its up to our CNC/MEC to decide whether or not we're going to have jobs at ASA in the future.

We have already come down as far as we are going to go. It is the Companies turn to finish the closing of the gap and get this thing finished!!

WOW the guys we voted back in are doing a great job--We have really been updated--Sounds like they are so concern with getting SKywest pilots ALPA that our contract is 2nd. and the Skywest guys have had a year.?

How about current company pay offer on the 700, 200 rates to match Skywest, the current improvements on QOL (Sched/reserve) AND JOB PROTECTION within Skywest, Inc.

Add in Profit bonuses, and a signing bonus.

I'll take that....

...and what airplane do you fly?

The problem with all this is that ASA is already "almost" the top pay in the industry on the 700. Of course that is not counting Horizon, but their flying is totally different than ours. (ie. no one is whipsawing with them). We need better pay on the 200, trip/duty rigs, QOL improvements and a HUGE signing bonus/100% retro; right along with job protection for the transfer of ASA aircraft. Then we need to move on and get on with the rest of the crap!!

100% retro plus industry leading pay and work rules. It would be an embarrassment(sic) to accept anything less from the most profitable airline in a quickly recovering industry in a booming economy. If they're too greedy to recognize our contribution, then they can spend more to disolve us than to keep us a productive part of this corporation.

Funny you ask....I fly the 700, and as I analyze it over and over, we are already (at current book) the highest paid 700 pilots in the DCI system, and second highest in the industry to Horizon. Not sure we have the grounds to demand for much more. However, the 200 rates are too low compared to the industry, so I feel they need to come up.

wms....do you understand that in achieving all of those goals, we will have effectively spelled the end of ASA. Being owned by Skywest puts them in the drivers seat. Look around. They can and will and have transferred our planes to SKYW. They are coming to ATL, which will only ease the taking over of our last, and only, base. We need to get the QOL gains, get our pay in-line with the industry and move on. What good will achieving all the industry leading get us, except a trip to the unemployment line!?!

Ohplease, you are correct, but the ALPA diehards aren't listening to you. They are sticking their fingers in their ears and yelling NAAAAANAAAANAAAA...I CANT HEAR YOU.......

Well said 79%.... I believe most agree with you.....

Unfortunately for us, I believe that this will happen regardless of whatever pay rates we get. THE ONLY THING THAT WILL PREVENT IT IS SCOPE!! If we don't get released in the very near future, we must give some on pay in order to narrow the issues down to scope. Then, if that is the only remaining issue, we will get released, and can force the issue by threat of strike...then we secure scope and save our jobs...

I believe this is the only way to keep out of the unemployment line...but who knows, we may get released soon if we don't get anything done on the next wave of sessions which they will probably assign us.

FL990,

For the most part, I agree with you. However a plan B should be ready in the event we don't get a release. That would involve "buying" the scope. If we have to "buy" it, we must realize that the price is going up with each Skywest airplane that comes to ATL. Are we willing to "pay" for job protection, or are we going to continue with the tough guy routine?

I agree with you 100%, but here's some food for thought. If SkyWest, Inc. is hell-bent on replacing ASA, what reason would they have to give us scope? We can concede all the pay we want, but Jerry will still say no to any meaningful scope.

Oh man, now you've done it. You destroyed Joey Merchant's reasoning. Shame on you. :)

I think there is an ALPA meeting on the 4th and the 5th of May. What needs to happen is that all the pilots with scope and single list concerns need to stand up and voice their opinion. Everyone pukes this stuff all over FI and the web boards but we need to voice this stuff where it matters most- an ALPA meeting with all of our elected representatives present. At least we could hear an explanation why this isn't a priority for our ALPA chapter- if this isn't the case.

That's an MEC meeting on the 4th-5th, not an LEC meeting. MEC meetings are 99% closed to the public.

Ahhh- didn't catch that. Actually, I didn't even realize the MEC meeting was closed to the public. Any insight to when the next LEC meeting will be?

I'm putting my money on one more session with a release to follow immediately if there isn't a deal done.
