One thing many should realize is that they will only have to paint the tail engines and belly of each aircraft. It looks like the white will stay the same. There may be a little economics in this new scheme.
It will be a lot cheaper than the last one.

I agree. I'll go a step further and guess they won't end up painting the belly at all. Airplanes need to be painted, so it really doesn't cost much more than continuing the old paint scheme. It's ugly, but I guarantee it's a lot cheaper than the good looking paint scheme of the 70's, 80's, and 90's.

Not sure what I think about this livery...guess I'll have to see it for real. I really liked UALs new one when I first saw it, but this one doesn't really grab me.

Apparently our current livery is fairly expensive since the tail design is complicated. They were looking for something simpler.

I think you'll find that most airlines repaint their airplanes after a major change in management these days. It has taken more than 7 years to paint the current livery and we still have Ron Allen 757s & 737s flying around. 9-11 and Chapter 11 has slowed the painting obviously, but it'll be quite a while before this livery becomes widespread.

I just hope we buy more airplanes to paint. ;)

Wow, almost two whole pages on a thread about Delta and still no Genereal. Bet if this had to do with USAirways or Dougie Parker he'd already have ten posts. Or if the paint scheme was alittle better looking maybe...:D

Hey, thanks for caring. I looked at the pictures and they are interesting. A red widget pointing to the Northwest.... Well, at least the old style widget is back, and not the frowning one. And, it looks better than Skybus yellow/orange.

Bye Bye--General Lee

That Paint Scheme SUCKS

I think the new paint scheme sucks. Who was the ad wizzard who came up with this one? Let me guess, Delta paid McKinsey $1 million to recommend an ad agency to re-do the branding. Some 30 year-old Harvard MBA made a lot of money on this crap.......... Lame....
