F/O moving to Dallas. Can anyone recommend some good apt. in Irving, Valley Ranch, Euless area? Thanks

euless.

stay out of dallas county (imo)

euless has TONS of airline people and some of the cheapest apts you'll find. also, very close to airport.

Welcome to the wonderful Big D! You'll love it. My opinion is that if you move by Irving that the closer you stay to Coppell or Las Colinas. Just dont move right into like "central" irving. Valley Ranch is a Ok area. Now for Euless, right off highway 360 (next to the airport) there are some decent apartments too, affordable and basically 5 minutes from DFW airport. Anyways, feel free to ask anyquestions and I would recommend going to www.apartmentguide.com or www.apartments.com they have good pictures and info on apartments around the area. If you're flexible on the area there are some nicer places in Dallas like Plano, not to far from DFW either. I live in Carrollton and I am 10 to 15 minutes from the airport. I pay 678 a month for a 1 bedroom, I'm right off the high way, close to the mall, grocery stores ETC. Let me know if I can help.
see ya!

Valley ranch is nice but will cost more $$$. I second the Euless recommendation. The women are more genuine and generally lower maintenance than east of DFW.

When I first moved to DFW a few years back, I got an apartment at the Enclave in Euless, just off of 360. $433 for a one bedroom, gated community, peace and quite. By far, my favorite apartment I've ever lived in. They waive all the application fees and also discount the rental rate for being an employee at DFW. It was probably one of the best deals around back in '03. I only left because I built a house elsewhere.

I lived in Irving (riiiight under the approach for 35R), Arlington, and Denton in my DFW days. I have to agree that Euless isn't a bad call. Everything you need is right there, you don't have to drive to get booze like you would have to if you lived in Irving, and the drive to DFW south entrance is virtually painless. Besides...Euless has Gator's and as stated above, sh-t tons of airline people. All kinds of airline/airport employee discounts all over that area for apts.

Just like some have said, Valley Ranch/Las Colinas is where you'll shell out a little more, but the place is a bit nicer than Euless and Irving proper.

It really all depends on how close to the airport you want to be and how much you plan to spend. One way commute from downtown of either city is, on average, an hour in peak traffic (sometimes less)...

Owning a home of your own is fairly affordable in comparison to many cities if you plan to stay in DFW. For apartments, the best bet is the ApartmentGuide link listed above...I think they cover just about every semi-reputable place in the metroplex and you could kill a man with the printed version they put out every month or so.

And, when you get there, be a good North Texas resident. Slap a Sportsradio 1310 The Ticket sticker on the back window of your car, become a good P1, and go buy ya some North Texas Mean Green season tickets.

Damn I miss home...

Euless was alright but sometimes those full power 4am Asian cargo departures could get old.

And those loud arse DC-8's that pull in around 0030 and take back out around 0400...especially on a rainy night. The reversers on those things would shake our apartment 5 miles away on a good -RA night.

I used to live down there as well. I would say check out the Arlington area. A little further to drive to DFW, but for sure a nice area to live in

Go to Sherlocks on Friday nights, you will tap a lot of a$$ there.

Check out also Grapevine, TX just a spit from DFW North entrance, nice and quiet with a lot of young people and AA guys, restaurants and bars especially in downtown, if I remember prices are reasonable(rent). 15 minutes from Dallas if you want to slam there for a week-end, as well for Fort Worth downtown
