The company just sent out an additional 100 letters. This came about after the last furlough admin's update. The last letter was sent to number 1158 on the APL list. Seniority number 3941. That is about the middle of the 5/24/1999 class...

Here is a copy of the update in case anyone hasn't seen it. You have to add the additional 100 letters as they were sent out after this update was released.

Hey is Lee Armor(approx 89 hire) still on seniority list? How about Brad Hemila(sp) worked with him at XJ maybe an 98-99 hire. Thanks great to see guys getting back! LOA

.

Welcome back boys..................

Although this airline will probably suck ass even more than when you left.............

PUCK FOUG DARKER !!!

.

they told my friend they still about 60 slots to fill. I think he said that would require classes through june. again he was doh 4-99. i think that leaves approx 800 pilots yet to be called

Letters went down to 1158, they are at just past 1000 on the recalls. total out is 1917 or something like that... Just remember though, with each recall they start back at the top of the list and work their way down. It seems more guys are taking the 1 pass option instead of the "call till last available" So if a subsequent recall occurs, all those people will be contacted again. Quite a few are taking a wait and see, and others are waiting to see what happens to the seniority integration.

Maybe someone already mentioned this above, but are all/most furloughees getting the E190 or are they training on the Airbus and 737? Also, what domiciles are being offered the furloughees (obviously E190 would not be a Phoenix domicile)?

The only 190 slots that have gone out were in the prev. recalls last year. So far this year it's been all 767/57 to 737. There are 5 f/o positions in the recall for the 190, but they haven't surfaced yet. I'm sure it will go almost to the bottom when they do.

Domiciles, I belive have been, all of them....

Kim just called for a 5/14 class, not quite sure where I stand in the class but it looks that I am at the bottom. She is waiting for some senior pilots to get back to her and that could change my class date to 5/21 (worst case scenario)

I am the jr guy on the 4/26/99 class, good luck to all.

LF

Hope the senior guy takes it. You could be number 1 in your USAIR class.

There has not been ANY for Phx or Las yet, unless you don't consider those bases part of what you're talking about.

Well not sure about CLT, but there was 1 or 2 737 in PIT. though may have changed by now. As to PHX LAS, no didn't consider them, until we are combined, as technically we don't have any recall rights there, though there is the transition agreement, but it's not like you get your full rights going to PHX or LAS, if they ever fill those rumored openings, and I'm not saying we should, as the deal is fair in that aspect...

As another note, got a call last night, that a Jun 7 99 guy got a letter in the mail, anyone else confirm?

Wow, it's gonna be bottom of the list by the end of the year FOR THE 190 slots IMO. LCC will be hiring 190 FOs early next year I betcha. I'm July 5, 1999 and haven't yet received the letter, but it sounds like I probably will soon at this rate. I'll most likely bypass too for now though.

Sad really...

I agree that they may have to hire off the street to fill the 190 FO slots.

When there are like 1500 pilots on furlough that refuse to return to a MAINLINE position... and therefore it would be necessary to hire off the street... with 1500 pilots on furlough...

Is anyone listening to how bad ALPA has made it suck?

WTF!

(They had 1500 guys on the seniority list snub their nose at the Jet 4 Jobs positions and many were CPT slots, why would we accept a 190 FO postion?)

Ya, the 190 f/o position is paying less then what many of us are making now, H*ll.....any f/o position is paying less, for those of us at '99 hire dates.... Anyways, supposedly the recall letters have come down to Jun 21, 99 class now...

Not sure how far down actual phone calls have gone yet. but I'm sure the 190 will reach the bottom.

I am a 6/14/99 hire. I haven't gotten the official recall letter yet. I did get what I am calling the "We're engaged to be engaged" letter on Saturday. It's the one that is not an official recall notice, but I have to respond within 7 days anyway. I'll bypass until the bitter end. I feel fortunate to have many bodies beneath me, and a decent job where I'm at. The AAA/HP merged list will be put together before I have to make a decision. I'm excited about my lack of career expectations. I only have a couple of good friends left at AAA. They are telling me to turn away and never look back. They say that Daquiri Doug and gang are far worse than Stevie and Rakeesh ever were. You've got to love a company where a 20 year guy can barely hold an FO block at LGA. Best of luck to those making the decision to go back. I would say that at this point there is only a 10-15% chance you'll see me back there. At least I have the luxury of having to make a decision at some point.

Was in the November '99 class. Any quess what month this year I might get a call? I hope for group 2.

I was in one of the Sept classes and I expect a recall in the 4th quarter. From the lastest Bid, there were openings for the 320 in PHL and DCA, and 73 in PHL and DCA. Also, there were many openings in the 76 international in PHL. You can find the latest bid on the ALPA website.

Additionally, you can also find the retirements at the website as well. Food for thought... in 2010, almost 750 pilots will have retired and by 2013 almost 1350. Movement should come from these retirements.

Dougs....

Is anyone listening to how bad ALPA has made it suck?

Is it really ALPA that made it suck?

Or was it the pilots who believed everything the company said to them?
Or was it the pilots who refused to let the MEC have time to look over a contract proposal?
Or was it the MEC member who told the negotiating committee, in desperation, to "Take a deal, any deal"?
Maybe it was the other MEC member who campaigned on the platform of making a change...then got elected and promptly fell in line with the company's wishes...and still got re-elected !!!
Or was it the pilots who picketed publicly against their own MEC?

Who really made it suck?

yes and no. Doug seems to have zero respect for pilots. We are nothing more than cogs in the machine to him and regardless of how much this company makes he's not going to pay us a dime more without a fight. However I think Doug and Kirby are much better at positioning the airline to have a future than Wolf or Gangwall ever were. So stevie and Rakeesh would grudgingly pay up and let the company fall apart but with Doug at least you know that your sh$tty job is going to most likely be there for years to come. Pick your poison.

Letters reaching 7/5/99 today...that's me but I haven't seen mine yet (I'm not home). I guess officially it's still rumor, but I heard it firsthand from a classmate/friend who received his today so I consider it fact.
