American Eagle will be hiring 700 new First Officers for 2007 and has recently implemented a base guarantee program, with selection made prior to the start of training. For further information, please contact American Eagle Pilot Recruitment at [email protected]

Eagle is a good place to be, if you live in base at least for a little while get some 121 get out or stay, but a garuntee for no commute.. awesome to me.

They told everyone in class last year that they were hiring 600 in 2006. I think they hired half that.

With that said, Eagle is looking better by the day around here.

there are people who want to go to SJU. Not as many that want a shiny jet in the states, but there are some that want to go home.

In the group I interviewed with there were a total of 9. 3 ORD, 1 DFW , 1 BOS, 2 MIA, 2 SJU.. It was pretty well spread out. On top of that the two that requested SJU had 4 of their buddies interview the week before and wanted to go their too.

Actually, the number of ATR F/O's required in SJU is fairly small. A lot of locals like that. Some drunken yahoos who are single and want to fly around the Caribbean with access to $2 bottles of Rum also like it. MIA is a fairly small ATR operation as well.

Eagle's biggest shortage is (and will be) in Jet F/O's in U.S. bases, like ORD and soon DFW.

But don't think you'll upgrade fast. Once the flowbacks are gone in 1-1.5 years, movement will likely slow again. If you want a fast upgrade, cut up a peice of wood and go talk to Johnny O.

He's always on the lookout for more whores to maintain his wealth.

What is upgrade at right now on avg, the last time i heard somewhere between 4-8 years? Though it won't matter soon enough if the legacies start hiring of the street with no PIC req.

Tell them if they get sick of eagle i have a good job waiting for them. but i dont hire with less than 100 multi. these days its hard to keep good FO's.

i find i have to do interviews quite often. attrition is such a problem. i cant figure it out.

Is it easy to get DFW prior to training? what should a first year FO expect to bring home everymonth including perdiem? thanx

Monthly rate calculator, factor in per diem and if your willing OT. You can get paid any where from 75-100 hrs, depending on how hard you want to work, factor in perdiem at 1-400 month, it varies. I'd look to see where you could get the left seat faster, that is where the pay is at.

yeah bro, your base is finalized prior to training. i asked for mia in the interview and got mia..

How does overtime at a regional work? is it over time when you fly above your monthly guarantee?

Yeah, Eagle is even looking at type rating senior FOs in anticipation for a mass-captain attrition. Who knows if that's gonna happen, but a $10 override is good for any FO.

Rumor has it that they are having such a hard time getting FO's, they will be paying for one night with the hooker of your choice if you pass the checkride.

If you get based in Miami, will you be able to be on the jetfleet? I do believe that San Juan is only Trubo-Prop, but not sure about MIA.

Anyone?

MIA is prop only. Go for the prop man, you will hold a line much faster than you will in a jet. Besides first year pay is the same.

Those going into the Jet F/O position will advance to hard lines fairly fast with the exception of LAX.

The CRJ due to it's low numbers also would be a slower hard line achievment.

ORD, LGA and DFW EMB will provide the fastest path off reserve Jet wise in the future.

I am interviewing there this week. Airline Apps is making my blood boil. They flight time will not add up. when I was doing my instrument and commercial i was able to log both dual recieved and PIC. With all of my times updated and the same as my logbook my PIC time is 200 lower that my logbook. Airline apps will not let me put both dual and PIC together to let everything add up. Can someone give me some advice. Am I doomed or is this fairly normal?? Thanks and any last words????

Hey NWa, it's normal. It's very annoying, but it's normal. Your logbook is the truth. Any company which uses airline apps should know about all of it's oddities. When they talk about flight times at the interview, just explain about the dual/pic situation.

NW,

My flight times do not match as well due to Apps interpretation of what PIC time should be (no dual received and pic at the same time).

The only thing you could do is go back and re-log all that time in your logbook so that it matches the application, but no way I would do that.

I have around 3200 hours total time, so I had two small log books. Unfortunatly the first one was destroyed by water. I've only showed my second one in my last two jobs and they didnt mind. Does eagle care that I only have a log book that starts at 1500 hours? like I said, the first log book was completly destoyed. Thanx

Thanks for the advice. On the pilot suppliment should I put the time in my logbook or the time on airline apps? I am getting excited but I have been sick as a dog for the last week. Hopefully I get better.

Sirius, My flight time is 200/1450 and I got a email very fast and I didn't respond that day so they called me the next day.

Base guarantee? You choose your base, they say okay. 2 months later you get forced to San Juan! I'm sceptical any time they start promising anything. I have been lied to way to often.
