Hi there guys.

I saw a posting somewhere online which stated that a couple of carriers have ordered the CRJ1000 (2 in Europe) and one undisclosed company ordered 15 of them.

Anybody have any idea who that may be? My guess would be SKW? Maybe QX?

They're going to ZW. I have an inside source. But it's very hush hush.

Try wiping the drool off your shirt and work on improving contract rates.

There are carriers that operate those things called airplanes OUTSIDE of the USA you know? Just because it seems like Republic holdings and it's litter of companies and Skywest are taking over the world, doesn't mean that every RJ order has to be from the states.

Just an observation.

I heard that Alaska was interested in Horizon, or possibly another carrier if Horizon can't do it cheap enough, to fly 100 seat equipment for them.

The Alaska Air group wants a 100 seat airplane. The Alaska/ Horizon relationship is different than most in that Horizon does not receive revenue per departure from Alaska except for on a handful of flights. With this set up Horizon actually looks for profitable markets for their airplanes and is solely responsible for the marketing and performance of their route network. The two airlines work together to 'right size' markets.

I would never rule anything out, but it does not seem too sensible for Alaska to start taking money from the Alaska Air Group and giving it to another corporation when with the current set up you have two profitable airlines working together.

Management could always put out misinformation to stir up emotions during negotiations and they probably are in this case. But one way Alaska management can assure itself of a rock solid scope language in the next contract is to outsource flying to the lowest bidder.

As far as I know, the 15 ordered are going to MyAir, an Italian airline. They currently fly A320s and CRJ-900s.

Jeroom, shall I help pack your bags for Italy then?

It will be interesting to see what happens with the 100 seat rumor at AAG.

To paraphrase our illustrious leader: It's not a question of whether the Ayer Group will have 100-seaters, it's just a question of the color of the badge on the pilots that fly them: blue, maroon, or some other color.

My crystal ball has three holes in it and spends a lot of time in the gutter.

PSA. You heard it here first.

No man. AWAC. Replacing the 146s we used to have with United. We're going back to UAL and opening a DEN base! NOW you've heard it here first!

Oh... and we're going to do ASE with it. Put THAT in your pipe and smoke it!

... all in good fun.

WOW MAN! GOOD STUFF! THE COLORS MAN, THE COLORS!

Peace.
