I know next to nothing about the CRJ... wondering about a W&B question.

on some of the 2.5 - 3 hour flights you guys are doing (or will be doing soon), what is the typical limiting factor for the W&B?

word is msp-iah had some major weight restriction problems, and looking at the sched. I see RIC-IAH listed at 8 held seats, PBI-IAH with held seats, COS-IAH, PHX-IAH with held seats, just off the top of my head.

not flaming you guys at all, it was the delicate genius at continental that decided all this, just can't figure out why they went and created a bunch of weight restrictions (therefore sell less seats), why not have you guys fly shorter routes and keep the XRs on the longer ones.

I did GSO-IAH recently and was limited to 47 for weight...i've also had a few issues with balance, but primarily its a max weight issue with the max structural as the limiting factor...

Which model RJ's do you guys have...100 or 200? And if 200 which one?

All 200 LR's. So far I have not had any problems taking a full load with a jumpseater, with the exception of MSP. I have had to boot Pax once out of IAH due to the ramp telling me we had 47 bags. We got the paperwork and showed 75 checked, 6 heavy's, and 10 gate checked.

Usually no problem taking a full load though, at least in my experience.

I wish they would put the XR on these routes. Surely they will figure it out shortly when enough Pax get left in MSP.

Also I forgot about COS, since 17L / 35R is closed. Usually not a problem (performance wise) off of 17R. If the winds won't allow it, and 35L is the only option, we better not have too many bags or too much gas or were gonna be leaving some folks at the gate. COS and MSP deffinately need an XR.

Why do you care? Sure it would be nice if management would do their job, but at the end of the day you just fly them. Let the guys making the big bucks figure out how to piss off the passengers.

maybe he cares because it is totally screwing with commuters and non-revs.
