I'm plagiarizing here, from our board, but it needs to be seen:
I know that is sounds tempting to take it now, but for me personally, my days off are worth more than an extra 30 dollars an hour. I just can't give anymore to this company. And I won't.
They continue to take and abuse from this group; they are doing this only because they are in a really bad position that they have created.
This is not out of the kindness of their hearts, or appreciation for all of us that have made them very, very rich.
This "overtime" offer will not make me forget:
-the problems we have with understaffing
-the problems we have with incompetent dispatchers and schedulers
-violation of contract with respect to use of reserves
-abuse of re-schedules
-abuse of PBS minimum schedules (grievance lost over 82 hr min as opposed to contractual 78 hours)
-illegal and unsafe attendance policy
-unsafe and unwarranted intimidation with fatigue calls
-violation of contract with respect to medical benefits and associated grievance
-company refusal to pay above lost grievance and dragging it's "feet" in meeting it obligation to the re-pay pilot group
-Joe C. abuse of awarding and denying PDOs based on his own "rules"
-the bait and switch with respect to awarding pilots bases
-continual opening and closing of bases for cost savings to company
-unreturned and or ignored emails and phone calls over important matters from members of the pilot group
-the terrible, inefficient pairings that require us to work more inefficient days and the excuse that nothing can be done to help us (add these pairings to the abuse of PBS min target of 82 hours and we are getting 12 and 13 days off a month)
-the unprofessional and disrespectful manner in which scheduing gets to speak to us
-the hoops we have to jump through sometimes to get paid correctly with Jill and Joe C
-the manner in which "nasy grams" are sent out
-how the "guiding principles" are a total joke that are nothing more than investor fluff
-the way we are preached at by our spiritual leader and the total disconnect he has with the reality of the way his company is being run
-the intreprtation of the contract with respect to "dispalcements"
-the intreprtation of the contract and grievance we lost over awarding "open time"
-the pressure put on us to fly airplanes that are broken and fixed with the "ops check oK" magic wand
-dispatchers giving us bingo fuels so far off at times I wonder if they are just making things up
-the overall disdain and contempt with which we are held
-the illegal and immoral termination of 125 pilots in 2001 so that the company could play a shell game with saabs and show more of a profit at the end of the year (they did too; over 9milion in profit)
-drug out contract proceedings last time; cancelled meetings last minute; made us look like greedy pilots; all in order to save money
But I am sure you get the picture.
