Thanks guys! Just wondering. Granted, there are crazier things happening right now, but still a transcon turn would be nuts! Especially in a 737....
It doesn't matter what airplane you're in. Sitting on your duff for that long gets old.
Say, doesn't DL have an exemption to exceed 16 hours or something?I think only the over age 60 pilots should be allowed to do transcon turns, and be able to marry their sisters too.....
Bye Bye---General Lee
Hey Hairy Arse,
Stop picking on the 1900 guys. At least those guys know how to fly gosh darnit! Im a proud ex1900 driver! It made me the pilot I am today. I know my flying skills will never be as good again.
Why not think outside the box for a minute? How is it any less unsafe than a 16 hr duty day with multiple legs. All you do is babysit the autopilot across the country. You could do the transcon turn like 2-3 times a week and have the rest of the days off. You could do 10 transcon turns a month that take 9-10 hrs to complete. That is 20-21 days off, 90-100 hrs of credit. That is hardly working at all. I hope they do allow transcon turns eventually. They sure beat the heck out of crappy 4 day trips and sitting in a hotel. If you don't like the transcon concept you can always bid for the crappy 4 day trips that would probably pay less and more time away from your family.
If you think flying a over-grown King Air made you good....then you still have lots to learn.

Sounds like you are jealous....
When was the last time you flew 120 hours a month with no autopilot or APU into Colorado's mountain airports in the soup?
