I've got a friend with over 8000 TT and approximately 2000 PIC turbojet, only one type but lives in S. Florida. He has not gotten a call. All 135, no 121. Has the four year degree as well.

There's no rhyme or reason to who's getting called. I have a friend that just upgraded in the ERJ (barely 3500 hours) and got called. Another with 8500 TT, 5000 Jet PIC, current in the 74, with a rec, hasn't heard a thing. So, who knows... It's all about waiting patiently, I guess. Everything happens for a reason...
 
At Spirit inside reco's are much more important the the college degree.
 
From what I hear they want people that already live in Detroit or FLL. I've had my app on line for a couple months but am only at bare mins, one of my co-workers has 6,000hrs and hasn't gotten a call. Sounds like your chances are alot better if you know some one.

Yes, my mother works there, but in reservations so I don't think that helps much. I'm also acquainted with one of their pilots, but I've yet to take a resume down there.
