I think it is because that site only provides hourly rates, it doesn't provide any insight on 'soft time.'

So what---it is tacky and unprofessional to post on a forum what your W-2 says. Besides.... if you wanted to just make up some b.s. and throw it out there you can (i.e. I grossed $32k 1st year at Skywest---I don't even work at SkyW). Then you just create problems. That "my fiancee took home more than a UPS pilot on 1st year pay" is a good example. I don't know of many UPS pilots posting there W-2 information on flightinfo. In fact.... I just did a search and came up with nothing... so that guy is comparing his fiancee's pay without knowing the "soft time"

What's the point other than to cause a bunch of frustration and some arguments about Skywest sucks, Mesa sucks, Gojet Sucks, Expressjet Sucks, Air Wisconsin Sucks, Republic Sucks, Colgan Sucks, Big Sky Sucks, Freedom sucks, etc.

Why do you people keep making these tacky posts about "W-2's" or "tell me your last paycheck." It is the most ridiculous, tacky, and unprofessional thing I've seen. There is a payscale at www.airlinepilotcentral.com, the payscales are there for anyones eyes, why do you feel the need to start a "My W-2 vs. Your W-2" thread? Because it turns into a "my airline is better than yours" bitchfest.

Get a life.

Well partner, it's because this is the only way to compare Apples to Apples. I've made comparisons with Skywest pilots and they make more at the end of the year. This is why it is important. A 3rd year FO at Skywest on the CRJ will have more money in the bank at the end of a year than a 5th year CR7 FO at ASA. Even though the ASA pilot's rate is higher. Management wants us to focus on the payrates. I personally don't care what the hourly rate is. I care what the end of year earnings are. I don't know about you, but I need to work in order to live, so this is my life.

I do care what the hourly rate is.

i think he's just trying to get a good financial picture of what to expect that first year. Is that tacky - unprofessional ? Payscales don't tell you anything. While were at it - anybody have a real W2 number from first year at Southwest ?

I made 23237.74 my 1st year. Made 49466.87 the 2nd year. That doesn't include the 500 I made off of the employee stock purchase program (espp) the 1st year or the 1800 I made in the espp in year 2. Also add in around a grand in year 2 for performance bonuses. Will be even more this year because of my eligibility for the profit sharing bonus.

Fly safe.
