Heard on another board that AA is talking about ramping up recalls to 150/month and pulling 25 MD80's out of the sand. Anyone else heard anything? I know in their prime they could only max out at 100/month, so I find that a little hard to believe

Which message board would that be? That is the first I have heard of them bringing anything back from storage. In fact, AA is supposedly decreasing domestic capacity and international capacity by 1% in 2007.

Man, I'd like to have some of what you're smokin, mon!

Even when AA was doing the max hiring in the '80's they were at 80/mo. Even when they were splitting up classes into 727 F/E and 80 F/O the numbers didn't go up.

Not saying AA "couldn't" do it but it's unlikely at this point. TC

P.S.--If you got that rumor off C&R, you should know better...

AA was doing 100+/month in the late 90's. However, I don't see them doing that anytime soon. Even if they brought back 25 airplanes, they'd only have to go to about 50/month to cover.

150/year, not per month, is more like it. They will probably ramp up to 20/month around April or May.

As far as bringing aircraft out of the sand, several instructors at the schoolhouse have actually heard that they might be parking 8 more MD80s next year. I don't think we'll be seeing growth at AA until at least 2008 or beyond.

aa wont grow until it clenses itself of all the TWA flight attendants that are currently falling off the recall list over the next year or so. heartless ba$turds!

I guess that includes the NW training center as well.

Well at least your onboard right? Now no more staples!

Mach8, you are a real hit on C&R. I know that you will prolly lose sleep over that. Don't stop.

They want 20 a month right now, maybe more later, but from what I hear they could not handle any more than 60 a month right now.

Mach8 had a lot of trouble with potty training as a kid.

I hear AA is going to recruit the Delta pshychologist to screen ol' Mach when he gets recalled....:bomb:

Shows how much you don't know.....DL hired him FROM AA back in the early nineties. How do you think all those ,yes men, singing "I love the B-scale" guys got hired at AA in the first place.......I know he wasn't there when you got hired because you had to spell psychologist correctly to even get past the first phase.

I know, your highness. We are re-hiring him again on a temporary case by case basis. You may stand down now.

Hey, they had to fullfill their monthly quota when they hired me! Keeps the pilot group "diversified", if you will.

"Psychologist"? I thought you had to be interviewed by a "Proctologist" to get hired by AA...

:D :D :D :D

I'm such a card! ;) TC

Man, I had forgotten about that.......

Memo to Self:

Self,
Next time a prospective employer ask me to poke at my turds with a Q-Tip, go work somewhere else.:D

....thanks for bringing up that repressed memory, you piece of hemocult culture!!!!!!!

(color added for effect!)

Happy Festivus to you, sir. :):)

Don't worry punk Boy. I am not coming back until the rightful and earned left seat (not a scab seat like the one you occupy.) is avail.
Truly amazing, this boy is senior to the Captains and presently furloughed pilots of TWA. He was in High School when we were on the property. Watch out NW Pilots, get ready.

You are actually coming back? That is funny. Watch out I am sure you will be ruled 32ed out here faster than you can say SCAB.

Well you might be waiting a while.

Mach,

As much as I respect the TWA pilots and despise the scAAbs don't think we will give up our scope as you guys did. Our merger committee is made up of 2 hired after 95 and 1 before. If they were to accept what your mec did they would but slitting their own throats.. If we can get doh or relative seniority it could benifit you and put the scAAbs in their place. We are on your side twa'rs.

Non-issue Cobra. Aint' gonna be no merger with NW. The SS American Airlines is in heavy seas and taking on water now. Last thing they need is another boat anchor like TWA. Even Arpey can just see trying to meld together the AA mechanics and the NW scabs (real scabs, not fantasy "scAAbs" like you refer to) would be a really ugly process that would heavily damage the combined company.

You don't need to lose any sleep over the possbility. I know I don't.
