The French and the Swiss seem to have a thing for making some really good aviation videos depicting fast movers...There was no more exciting place on earth than either a carrier flight deck or the bustling ramp of an Air Force fighter base...I sorely miss it.
Lotta fun but no big deal. Navy tanker pilots had to do it occasionally when a fighter had just enough fuel for one try at the deck.
It was quite a sight to see an A-3 "Whale" fly by in slow flight with his basket out to pick up a fighter who just boltered off the angle. It was gear-UP, flaps-UP, hook-UP, probe-OUT and plug in.
I didn't see anything wrong with what they were doing...

Anyone have any info on this?
That just looked like all kinds of stupid.
Not to mention the crew that was put at risk that happened to be at the mercy of the bonehead that pulled this off.
I imagine Bud Holland would have liked it also. Too bad he's a burned pile of grisly remains.
And took three others with him...
I bet you step out of the shower to take a piss don't you?

Actually, I piss on my feet. It helps kill the athletes foot. Dude, that plane has more altitude sitting with the gear down on the ramp. Pause the video when the A/C is right in the middle and take a look at the tree/bush that lines up with the SHADOW of the A/C. That tree was just a few feet from the outboard engine. BUUTTTTTTTT, to each his own........ use your own judgement, as you will only clean out the gene pool with impressive maneuvers like the above mentioned.
Relax francis. I would never attempt a maneuver like the one in the video. I am pretty sure though that the crew had a pretty good idea of what they were doing DUDE. There may be better and more skilled pilots in the world besides you and me.
