ERAU is awesome! They arranged for me to get a full-ride scholarship for Hispanic students. They even helped me apply for a government grant for minorities that got me a 737 type rating. Now i am flying the Boeing and making the $$$$!
Still a great career, no need for a college degree, there is a growing pilot shortage. This will accelerate as the hiring boom continues to grow. $100K/yr is a very doable figure for pilot who is a high school grad, as I said still a great career.

Yip and I have been round and round on this - and I'm going to play devil's advocate here...
You absolutely need a solid 4 year college degree in today's world to compete with your peers in all walks of life. Realize even though you may want to fly and have the potential to fly with only a high school diploma, there are many factors which could take that career progression away from you. Examples are a problem with your medical, an aviation accident, driving issues, etc...
Now, if you don't have the aviation path to follow for a career, you need to have a plan B. In almost all major corporations, business, and engineering firms, a good 4 year degree is a must. Without it, you'll go from a pilot in a previous job to a burger flipper for years to come.
Last but not least, most young pilots aspire to fly for the majors one day. And with the current situation of just a handful of majors hiring with more and more applicants on file, they can be extremely picky. You can be rest assured that the 4 year degree is very much looked at when it comes time to call the person in for the interview.
Not to mention that it is programs like this that are absolutely killing our careers. These places have just taken the bartending school model and turned it into pilot school. Any wonder we have no bargaining power?
