Ok, NBAA time lets hear the wish list.

I liked to dump Honeywell and see the Collins proline 21 with WX and Charts in the 45...ie what they are doing with the 60XR.

What is your list and do you think they are going to move forward with the 45 or a "new" model?

A smart man once said "You can't polish a turd".

I enjoy flying the LR60 even with the small wing and tiny brakes but its time for something new. Id like to see a hybrid of the 60 and 45, maybe PW308 engines, the 45 wheels and brakes and a new wing design, all topped off with the Proline 21 avionics suite.I cant understand why on the 60XR they left the old annunciator panel instead of adding a fifth screen and making it a dedicated EICAS display. So lets add a five tube EFIS to my wish list.

Come to think of it, my list is starting to look a lot like the Challenger 300.

have a great day!!!!

Yes, they took the cheap way out knowing the 60's days in production are limited. I am tired of them talking in secret about a 60 type fuselage on the 45 wing with new engines.

I having a saying for you! "If you can't run with the big dogs keep your puppy a$$ on the porch" :)

That's the issue - anything you do to improve the LR60 is going to have a negative impact on CL300 sales, hence Bombardier is hestitant to do anything to significantly improve the Lear.

The LR60 is dramatically underwinged and underbraked, but my bet is that Montreal will never approve a Wichita science project to develop a new wing.

Yeah, I would think we've seen the last upgrade of the 60. If they were thinking long-term they would have significantly upgraded it, as opposed to just putting in PL-21 and some new interior options. Heck, Duncan could do that.

If you put a real wing/brakes on a 60, as has previously been said, you're going to steal from some of the 300 sales.

It would be a fun experiment though. I think the best bet for any wing enhancements will come from Raisbeck.

I have yet to run out on the 60. Six to 8 sets of clubs no sweat if they bring the small bags...and everything else inside....of course the 40/45 has the 60 beat there.

I still chuckle at the comment that I read of one of the Learjet engineers on the 60XR saying "they went above and beyond the call of duty with the 60XR" He must be easily impressed!

Above and beyond???

Like I said, all they did was slap PR-21 in it. That's it really.

Duncan has been moding DA50's monthly. I can't see where BAS did anything spectacular.

Hmmmmmmmm, the Learjet 60 huh? I really like the wingtip buzz at altitude when your heavy. We all know that it needs brakes. I remember being in school discussing brake energy and someone mentioned how low the weight limits were. Well let's see, what was the approx. gross weight of a 30 series again?

Somebody mentioned that they've never run out of baggage room, I do it all the time. I hate the f-ing couch. Theres nothing like a passengers legs in the aisle while you're trying to get to the galley. Put 5 pax in the back and they seem to be all over one another. Work for my outfit and you'll be carrying dogs around with the pax.

I have heard that they are working on a "Lear 70". Supposedly a clean sheet design. I'll believe it when I see it.

I have flow the 60 for a while now, and I can't ever remember running into a passenger going from my seat to the galley!

And we're usually hauling just a few folks...if massive baggage space had been a necessity, we'd have gotten a different plane.

Every birds a trade off. This one has worked well.

I would never expect there to be a Lear 70.

Learjet 69?

If it is a Lear version of the CL300, look out. The longer witchita waits, the longer the wait....... I personally think they should name it the Lear 69. The name alone would certainly make it the talk of the industry.

Also ditch the freon system and go to a real bleed air system.
ever see guys sitting in their 604's in the middle of the summer time and you can actually see the foggy COOL air coming out of the vents while our vents only put out a puff of warm air?

Geez man, our freon is ice cold and we're regularly in the tropics. Now, we have the new style ducting, and i have heard of folks bitching about it getting hot up front with the old style ducts that were behind the seats.

Now this is all second hand info, but I was at Safety Stand Down this year and had lunch with a Bombardier test pilot. He specifically works on the Global line, but had a lot of info to share. I asked about the EICAS system on the 60 to complete the cockpit upgrade, and he said that it would require a total recertification on the aircraft as a result and as a result a lot of time and money. There was no real concern about it conflicting with the 300 (which I currently fly) but more of a cost issue than anything. EICAS requires a lot more addition computing power than I thought. Including new FADEC's and much more monitoring than is capable in the 60. He did mention that the Global would get a new cockpit and possibly go fly by wire at some point. The new cockpit is nearly approved (internally) but is still at least 3-5 years away. Things obviously move slow up in Montreal. Above and beyond anything else I hope that they get the strike thing figured out. We had our plane in an inspection during that whole deal out in ICT and it was a pain.

Doesn't the -40 mod for the Falcon 50 by Garrett put EICAS on board? I believe it does. That entire mod (if you do the whole thing) turns a straight 50 into a 50EX. That did not require a total recert. As a matter of fact, that entire Garrett mod is a SB!! EICAS can also be installed per an STC. Sounds like that guy you ate with needs to elaborate or go back and do his homework.
