Had a G-Shock in the Army, lasted through everything an M1A1 could throw at it.

An Omega GMT now... Any GMT is great if you are doing your own flight planning and changing time zones. However, they are a bit of a waste of money like all jewlery. All cel phones and FMSes have times you can look at!

I'll sell you my Breitling B-1 if you're interested. It's thick, has an E6B, and digital...What else could you want? Looking to get the new Aerospace. PM if interested. Watch is 9.9/10

Baja.

I have the G-Shock Wave Sceptor... automatically senses the HF frequency from the atomic clock in CO and sets itself to the second every night. It's really snazzy and looks sharp, too (silver).

Swatches are comming back. Dont forget to purchase the Swatch Guard. My Transformer watch always cought the honeys eyes. 3rd grade was so much fun.

Ahhhhh! Don't do it! A jumbo pilot watch with GPS, 18 time zones, and 5 dials... is like wearing silvered Ray-Ban aviators, a leather jacket in 100 degree heat, or a nomex flight suit in a C-150.

Get a cheap Timex, or a $15 Casio digital with an alarm. The alarm is actually useful, as opposed to knowing what time it is in Dubai.

Real pilots are too cheap.

Just use the clock on your cell phone.

I used to have a Rolex Sub that was stolen in Madrid last year (the theft was widely reported here and on other aviation websites and discussed ad nausem by Diesel...).

I have since cast off the chains of capitalism and sport a Timex Ironman I got for 29.95 from Walmart. It has a timer and can keep track of multiple splits as I am running.

I feel much better now... ;) TC

P.S.--I used to have a Swiss Army watch but it crapped out--band broke and the sweep hand stuck.

P.P.S.--Why would you need a calculator? If you can't do simple math in your head, you shouldn't be a pilot. Now, if you can find a watch with a spell and grammar checker...

The March of Timex

Maybe you can track a pilot's career by the succession of wristwatches worn.
The USAF issued me a "hack watch", but I soon bought an Accutron at the BX (remember? the one with a tuning fork inside). TDY to Guam yielded a self-winding Seiko, with all the buttons and dials. As an airline S/O, I had one of the new "digital" watches, accurate to the second. When I made F/O, I upgraded to an "Ironman" and simulated jogging. The left seat paid enough to justify a Timex "Messenger" with a built-in pager, for sitting reserve. Retired now, I have a cheap Armitron, with easy-to-read numerals. But come to think of it, why do I need a watch at all?

Breitling Navitimer, Omega Speedmaster, or Rolex GMT Master. End of story.

Go to the web site for each and re-live some of the golden days of aviation. The Breitling web site is very good. Wearing any of the three for your day-to-day watch is a real joy. Have a $30.00 Timex Ironman for running

IMO most of the Breitlings are huge and clunky with very busy dials. The one exception is the Aerospace...a very sleek looking watch with great functionality and no dorky E6B.

The GMT is a true classic but frankly doesn't have the functionality of the Aerospace. I collect Rolexes but I would never wear one to work just because I don't want to ding 'em up.

I do have a like new two tone Sub for sale. PM me if you're interested...

When I was younger those things were really in. Not only did everyone in school have one with the guards, but would wear several on each arm...

Cast off the chains of capitalism by shopping at Walmart??? Hmmm.....

Walmart is downright merciless with their overseas suppliers. Right now some poor kid/mom is slaving away for peanuts so we can buy a pair of socks for 50 cents at Walmart. Not to mention all the mom and pop stores that have been shuttered thanks to the Walmart Juggernaut. scr$w walmart.....

You guys are out of your minds spending this money for a freakin' watch!!! It tells time. That's it...

"Don't be cheap" What the hell does that mean? I have to spend 3 grand on a watch to prove that I am a somebody. Whatever...

Perspective people...it's a timepiece. Unless you have absolutely nothing better to do with your money than use it to keep up with your buds. That's my 2 cents.

I also have a Timex Ironman with the velcro strap. I had one for 4 years and replaced it with the newer model. The face was more rounded and they added an extra button. It cost about $35 or so. Great watch - digital, indiglo, several timers, alarm, 12/24hr format, etc.

Best feature to me is the ease of strapping and removal.

Calculator Super Geek Special

Casio DBC 32 Calc watch! 25 bucks at Walmart, 10 year battery, and will light up automatically when you tilt your wrist. You don't have to take it off thru security either.

No Brainer.

Get the polar heart rate monitor watch. It records your heart rate for hours on end. For a good laugh use it while your ladies "legs are in the air" It's fun see what your avg/max heart rate was.

Gotta love another excuse to slip between the sheets.

Anyone know the diference between the Breitling Aerospace and the Aerospace Advantage?

BTW - My Breitling B-1 is for sale just in time for the Holidays! Check out the for sale section here.

Baja.
