General-
Pee and moan all you want, but the fact remains, you and your peers created this mess by repeatedly giving up scope. Your vote helped create your own furloughees destruction.

We will start HIRING in the SPRING. All the furloughees will be called and asked if they would like to come back before then. You are wrong again. We are adding new routes and new widebodies, and when we emerge from BK in the Spring we will make the largest Boeing order ever from Delta. (787s and 737-700s) We limited the number of larger RJs (and limited the seats), and allowed them to have a certain number of 1st class seats to actually make some of those ridiculously long flights possibly bareable for our best customers. Jim Whitehurst (our COO and eventual CEO most likely) recently stated to a group of employees that thanks to yeilds going UP, RJs don't make as much sense, and in reality there may be some new larger RJs coming, but an equal number or more of the 50 seaters will be parked for good. He said they are looking for used mainline planes (since SW and Airtran have most of the new 737-700 slots at Boeing for the next few years) and that they are cheaper per month than a new 70 seater.

You have got to be kidding me!!! You can't still possibly believe that that was the right vote now that Delta is turning sizable profits. I can (barely) understand your thinking that it was the right vote at the time, but still believing that now that you have 20/20 hindsight and can see that Delta was just fine without those concessions? Come on, General. You can't possibly be that dense. Just admit that you made a stupid vote and we'll move on.

In defense of the General (*duck*). None of us were there. None of us were on the Delta seniority list. None of us have the right to a first-person opinion about the Delta vote. Jen Lee and the rest of those guys did what they thought needed to be done. If there's any "20/20 hindsight ass-kicking to be done" they should do it to themselves. It's very easy to cast aspersions from outside the looking glass. I'm quite sure, despite all the "wisdom" to be found on flightinfo.com, that the Delta pilots knew what was best for the Delta pilots far better than any of us did.

Edit: Delta actually lost money last month, so I don't think they're turning "sizeable" profits.

Edit squared: I still think the General is a self-righteous pompous ass....

Yes, we did lose $11 million last month. But our cash on hand (which really counts) climbed to over $3 billion usable, and near $4 billion total. The TransAtlantic bomb scare did a number on us. Did you know we are announcing 6 more INTL routes tomorrow or the next day? Pretty nice..... Hello Prague and Vienna....

PS--FMRFREIGHTDOG is the arse.

How many are bypassing recall because it isn't worth coming back vs taking the recall?

How did the retiree's fortune ride out the current pilots vote?

How did scope... oh wait, Jennpee gave it up like a prom girl.

From WSurf:
"1. Will the Pilots Strike?
2. Will the Pilots Take a Pay Cut?
3. Will the pilots allow a change in Scope?
I said........ No, yes, yes
Lee----> Maybe, no, no!!!"

Just need to keep the record strait.

Effigy is a small town outside of Eagan, Right? Do they have a large square for the burning or just in the middle of the street?

Well a permit is required, and you have to reserve a post for your burning. I think it's only Tuesdays or Saturdays after dusk.

Yes this is true and is a major area of concern in our negotions which begin in April. Doesn't Skywest also have one 50 seat pay rate for FO's? And if you want to compare hourly rates, Republic is around $22.50/hr for your first year. What is Skywest's?
Nevermind you retracted your statement, apparently everyone seems to care?

coopervane- what does the note on the dog say?

Just another chance for 79% to complain about Skw. I quit listening to the "General" a long time ago.

Most of those guys have been out since November, 2001. So, yes, a lot have been out for a while and accrued seniority somewhere else. Atleast we give them credit in years of service when and if they come back. Any of those guys coming back would start again on the MD88 at 6th year pay. At United they come back to the pay they had when they went out. As far as the retirees, most of the 2300 that left in 18 months took their money and ran, and also depleted a huge portion of the pension in total. We are talking billions of dollars, and Delta could never have expected 2300 to leave within a short period of time. The bank dried up thanks to a run on the bank.

And Scope---it was partially given up, since they wanted even more seats and UNLIMITED numbers of larger RJs, and they did NOT get that at all. So, as far as the prom girl goes, they got to second base. All of our work rules were maintained, and we are going to grow again. So, for the RECORD, it was the right vote.

For the RECORD, you're an idiot.

Say What? It was the correct vote, and guys like you love to say you would do differently, but when the shiznet hits the fan, you don't. We were shown the facts and we voted accordingly. To say 9-11 didn't affect things is incorrect. To say 2300 pilots bailing out in 18 months didn't affect the pilot pension as a whole is incorrect. To say we weren't a few weeks away from not being able to fund payroll is incorrect. That is the way it goes, and overall we will get something out of this, and we still have most of our work rules intact. Our scope was bumped, but adding first class to a bunch of RJs (6 extra seats, max) was actually a good thing, since our poor elite flyers have to endure those pieces of turd on long distances--they deserve a good product. (or a bigger seat atleast)

You talk big PCL, but in reality you are a small man.

You talk big PCL, but in reality you are a small man.

This coming from the man that swore up and down for months that he and 50.1% of the Delta pilot group would vote no on any scope erosion? Seems to me that you were the one who talked big and didn't carry through. You're a coward, General. Delta management stared you down, and you blinked. They won, you lost. It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.

PCL,

You might hate General Lee, but why are you talking sh!t on the whole Delta pilot group? They did what they had to do. Obviously they had to give something and they chose some of their scope stuff. Good thing, because that's probably why you're a big bad captain on your RJ. You'll probably be there forever now because of what the majors had to give on scope. Congratulations! :(

A coward? I was UNINFORMED. How much does ALPA tell anyone during negotiations? Not much at all, and you should know that. I was spouting off things I thought were correct, when IN FACT I didn't know the whole story. I thought the deal suked overall, but it could have been worse, and we actually were in a load of krap. There was NO WAY we were going to keep everything because we were in BK. Were they doing that just for laughs? No. You tend to think differently, and in reality you knew less than I did. When I saw everything on the table, I voted, and I am happy with the outcome. We kept all of our work rules, allowed our RJs to have first class which they sorely needed, and have a fairly short duration for the contract. Nobody really won here, and we all lost something, but if you think you won't lose something in BK, you are mistaken. And, your angry stance is really pathetic. You need to give it a break and worry about your own situation. We are moving forward with ours, in a good way. Your's will get worse, and then you won't have the bravado you have now. Just watch.

Bye Bye--General Lee

Time will tell. I wouldn't count on it, though, General.

General spouting off about things that were incorrect. Now that about wraps up completely those 100,000,000,000,000 posts under your name. You slam and talk smack about other people, and argue garbage you dont even understand or "claim" to know. COMEDY

I didn't even have to say whether or not I voted yes or no on the TA, and there would be NO way you could ever know, but I did anyway. Against the grain too. Is that comedy? It is life. And, I tell it like I see it, and if that ruffles your diapers, then too bad little man. Your life is comedy.

Sounds like with that response, "your life is comedy" the next line out of your mouth is you will want to meet me at the monkeybars at recess next to discuss it further. Great response.
