Believe it when you see it parked on the ramp...

I thought SKW declined to participate in that due to the short duration of the contract...

Also not sure SKW has any interest in ERJ's.

Um...large aircraft? That Fokker's about the same size as a 90-seat RJ...or um, 76 seat RJ...ahem. I'll be first in line for the Australia bid. On a serious note, Q-400's would be great if we are able to negotiate reasonable rates for them. It'd be pretty pathetic to fly them for our current "turboprop" rates, though. Can I get an Amen on a third code-share?

I doubt it. The rumor I heard that is CAL wanted SkyWest to foot the bill for the Q400s and SkyWest said no (which I believe). Unless CAL is buying them, I don't think it's going to happen.

Or better yet, maybe they will announce that they will be the launch customer for the new Boeing 100 seat jet!

Great!!!! MORE airplanes for Skywest!!! Congrats guys......now you can hire like 200 per month while ASA downsizes, downgrades and furghloughs!!! But hey, good news for you.

Actually, the first press release on THAT link today made my jaw drop.

Continental is FUNDING it's pension plans. OMFG. What a novel concept. Actually honoring commitments to your labor groups. What a bunch of luddites.

Hope they don't screw it all up with a merger with United.

(nice article here on how Continental MIGHT be the "airline of the future" . . . I'm beginning to believe it . . . http://www.latimes.com/travel/la-tr-insider8oct08,1,5325700.column?ctrack=1&cset=true )

May as well add some fuel to the fire. The rumor may be that SKW Inc. was awarded the flying for the Q400 and that the ASA side of the fence would actually fly it. BL spent allot of tx with CAL on the initial RFP and his labor may be paying off. Rumor around the coffee maker about the Q400 replacing the ATR isn't dead yet.

Flown for 50-seat rates by SKW of course.

I hope we award the flying to the airline that appreciates it. It makes me sick of all those regional pilots salivating at taking more of mainlines flying by way of alpa no less.

I heard that the SkyWest guys have already agreed (because of the expansion possibilities and huge upgrade potential --screw everyone else) to fly the possible Q400s for E120 wages. Wow. I would have never guessed!

Bye Bye--General Lee

That would be the......

........B717, but that A/C was not PC enough since it was an MD product rebadged a Boeing. Another missed opportunity for a great American company to sell the product the airlines were looking to buy.

And Jen Lee comes out of hiding to comment on a thread that might relate to something positive for SKYW.

Who would've thunk?

Run away now, Jen, and keep that tail between your legs. We have not yet forgotten:

No one sells out the profession more than the major airline pilots who allow it to happen...

You guys ruined your regional industry by accepting substandard wages when your airline WASN'T in BK or under the threat. That is the difference, and you know it. Strike two dork..... Sounds like you forgot you started this whole downhill slide for the regionals. Up to 99 seats for 50 seat wages? You have got to be kidding me? You were on the verge of BK, right? The judge was ready to pull the plug with the creditors, right? Right?

And, I haven't been hiding, but rather waiting for another SkyWest screw up. I bet I will see it soon....

Bye Bye--General Lee
