Make NO MISTAKE about it. Skywest is advertising a job fair for pilots on 9/28 at the cobb galleria. Take to mean whatever you like but I for one think that SKW wants to open a pilot base here. Otherwise it would be an ASA job fair.

did it ever occur to you that skywest might just be making it a little more convenient for qualified pilots to apply?.....They know there are ASA pilots who are wanting to switch employers, and they're going to where the pilots are. The same thing happened after Independence shut down. Skywest had a pretty big career fair in D.C........funny, I don't see a pilot base there......

When I worked at PSA I remember they would do that, go to a city where there was other companies and do interviews. It is just a good way to find pilots.

Yes it did occur to me....maybe i am looking at the glass as 1/2 empty. It also occurs to me that SKW has an contract to provide regional lift for an airline based in Atlanta. Right now its done by its subsedary (m.s.) ASA. As an ASA pilot this is troublesome because of what i perceive as nothing short of union busting 101.
Maybe I am wrong....I hope I am... but I do not think we should discount this either. Now don't think I am saying we should sign a bullsh!t contract. What I am saying is we need to put as much pressure on both ALPA and the company to get this done quick and prevent SKW from busting us up.

I hope they get a good taste of what the Atlanta labor pool is like. Funny that they're having it in Cobb county instead of at the World Conference Center or by the airport. Perhaps trying to attract a "different demographic"?

Then how do you explain Popeyes vs Wendy's on Councourse C? It's not the talent pool, it's the lack of talent in ASA managment.

What about Delta signing an agreement that ASA has 80% of DCI out of Atlanta for the next 15 years? If ASA keeps up the numbers, how could Skywest take a bite out of the 80%?

Smacktard,

Have you no shame? Comparing ASA's management team to Wendy's and Popeye's managment teams is downright disrespectful...

....downright disrespectful to the Wendy's and Popeye's managers.

I am not sure. If SKW owns ASA whos flying is it? They say that we are run as separate entities but they are ( or soon will ) xfer assets aka 70's or 90's ?
