Yes, are company policy is to have a flight attendant or flight engineer on every flight. The last two pilots who weren't qualified on one of the planes in SDF went to G-200 or CL-601 school, so everyone there now is qualified on both planes.

Gohost rider64, actually they do a retina scan at each of our restaurants to see if any applicants are eating there. They like to see you spread around your caloric intake at each one of the brands. and if they see you eating too much at KFC they give you a cholesterol test during the interview!!!
 
So far this year in the first 3 periods that we have records, I have flown about 90 hours, others are at 100, 43 and 44. The first period started the last week of December and the last day of the third period was March 19th. So 1 period is basically 4 weeks, just not on the normal schedule. I have flown maybe 20 ours since the end of the last period. I have flown on 8 out of 24 weekend days so far this year. That is pretty rare for us out in SNA as we don;t normally fly on the weekends like the SDF planes do. I have been on 15 RON's this year and flown on 28 duty days. All pretty average for out here in SNA.

Last year I flew 370 hours(which was the second most among our 4 pilots here, the most was around 385.), 98 duty days, 73 RON's and 20 out of 104 weekend days worked. So everyone flies pretty much the same throughout the year. this year will probably average out to be the same.

We do have different job duties around the hangar, such as training, safety, fuel program, jepps, etc.. Most of us go into the office on days we aren;t flying. We aren't in the office 8-5, it is more or less when you show up and if you have things to get done, which is quite often. But, if you don't have anything to do or can get it done at home, we don't go into office. I will say, the job is not for someone who just expects to fly and go home and do nothing to contribute to the company or department. But if you enjoy working with great guys and gals and enjoy making contributions to a flight department, than it is a great job.

yeah, I don't think I need to be talking about salaries here. It is pretty much NBAA standard; and depending on which level you are in the company, you receive a pretty good bonus each year. vacation is pretty much standard as every company is now a days - 2 weeks to start. If you get an interview I definitely wouldn;t start out by asking how many vacation days you are going to get? Probably not a good idea anywhere, but I admit it is nice to know.

The salary thing always makes me laugh, especially pertaining to airline guys. Whenever you hear one talking about how much he makes they always make sure they add in their per-diem. What gives?? Isn't that supposed to be money you use to eat with??? or are they too cheap to buy anything to eat? I always thought that was funny with the per-diem and salary.
 
Completely useless trivia...

I just read in my monthly copy of Restaurant Business that they are requiring all executives, specifically CEO David Novak, to use the jet as part of their corporate security plan in response to personal attacks on company personnel by animal rights activists. It may be that this greater utilization of company aircraft accounts for the hiring.

This really isn't that unusual for most corporations. I know our CEO can't ride the airlines, unless in a dire emergency and no other option is available...

That's true for a lot of corporations. Just imagine if Bill Gates got kidnapped or assaulted on an airline flight.

For security reasons most Boards simply won't allow their top executives on the airlines.

So far the only question you haven't asked is what kind of pay and benefits the NASA astronauts have and if they're hiring!
 
Actually, that is wrong. Only our CEO (who also is the chairman of the board) is required to use the aircraft. The article failed to mention the threats that he has received from the crazy f***ers at PETA. I flew him to Germany two years ago and he was doused with fake blood during an interview while the PETA people posed as legitiamte reporters. They also travel around Louisville to all the places him and his wife frequent, and try to get them to believe the PETA side of the story (be kind to chickens!). So, any other executive in our company can and will travel on the airlines. Our utilization has actually stayed around same. The article you mentioned is just another person who doesn't have a clue about what the use of the corporate plane really is. Most of our 2 or 3 day trips could never be done even in a week on the airlines. and then you could talk about the lost time that executive has experienced by being out of the office and not being able to do his job to the fullest. All this time I was reading The Restaurant Business magazine I thought they were a legit magazine, I guess they are just like the Enquirer now!

Dang, you are scratching a LOT! Whadda gonna say on your next medical??? Can you put in the remarks section of the paperwork, "Scratched Glutius Maximus approximately 700 times in response to same said number of inane questions from Flightinfo.com member, psysicx?" :D

I did a phone interview with them a couple of years back (I think). Typical HR type called me and asked the usual list of items. We talked for quite a while and mentioned that someone else would be calling me for the next step (that never happened). I'm not sure if I would have continued the process being in good shape where I'm at.

If you are curious about them, send them a resume and judge for yourself. It doesn't cost anything to do that.
