I use a Sony 2.1 for the road, and a Canon EOS 10D for everything else. Regardless of what you end up buying, make sure that it has a normal type viewfinder. My sony uses the LCD screen as the viewfinder, and when using it outdoors it is very difficult, if not impossible to frame your photo because the screen can't be seen. Sony uses MemoryStick, and Canon uses CF cards. I have about 5 128MB sticks, and 6 256MB CF cards, primarilly for vacations when I won't be around a computer to download the media.
