Wow!,… now what I did was brilliant, I was just languishing in the Coast Guard and the thought of Captain was 22 years INTO my career. I, as a risk taker, and one who wanted to climb the ladder quickly, transferred to the USAF and they made me a Captain on day one!

Take that Biotch; I went from lousy Lieutenant to Captain overnight! Now if I flew C-5’s I’d be almost as cool.

Ha, I got someone beat, I was 22. And I could spell 747 when I was 14.

I ate Capn crunch when I was 7 and I drank a fifth of Captain Morgans once when I was 19.....But neither of these were on a 747...Darn.....I thought I was cool....Guess not!

Many years ago my father was the youngest 747 driver in the world. he flew for TWA and he was in his early to mid 20's. I couldnt see that happening again

Youngest 74 Captain

Wow I'm impressed. SAT also had the youngest 74 Capt. several years ago. I'd like to know, who did you do all your PFT with?

I remember when I was doing my flight training, and reading an article in AOPA about the youngest guy ever getting a CE-500 type rating at 18 years old. I also remember thinking 'Well ********************....if my Daddy would give me $20,000 bucks I'd have a CE-500 type rating too. Biiiiiig f-ing deal."

Whatever. LOL

Hey Kid, ya missed it by a couple of years...I talked to one of our old pilots..and he said one of the foreign airlines or cargo airlines hired 22-23 yr old street guys 20 years ago. Sorry, had a busy day and when he said who cares about it...I had to agree, went back to teaching the blind about contaminated data...

I bet you wear your uniform to the market too ;-)
Its amazing that airlines (no matter how small) still hire psychopath's.

When I commute into SLC, I'll sometimes go to Albertsons on the way to my crashpad and pick up food.
I'm in uniform and I do it this way because I'm too F'n lazy (and cheap) to go change clothes first.I'm praying this doesn't put me in the same boat as this tool. (Although in one of his post-hedoes claim to work at the same airline that I do.)

I upgraded on the 747 at age 27, I was just wondering if anyone knew anyone younger?

I don't know his name, but there is a UPS pilot who upgraded to the 747 at 23. I read an articile in an aviation magazine years ago about this guy. While in college he won some scholarship that paid for training in a DC-8. I can't remember if it was a type rating or an FE rating. Anyway, right after that UPS started their own airline and he was one of the very first pilots hired, on the -8. And a short time later, he was upgraded to Captain on the 747. And has probably been there ever since.
