S.65's definition of full retirement age is not limited to 65 years old

S.65 is not limiting the age to 65!!!!!!! S.65 is saying that a PART 121 pilot can fly to the FULL RETIREMENT AGE OF SOCIAL SECURITY. A schedule has long been established by the Social Sec. Adm. to increase the age of full benefit.
Social Sec. is designed to have ALL contribute and only pay those that survive a short period of time and is based on a few years less than the current death rate age averages.

Those that are just entering the work force today won't recieve benefit until they are in their 70's. These ages are also based on political issues that determine the numbers basis on funding requirements of the administration.

So based on Social Security many airline pilots will be flying till their death.

I want to fly as long as they will let me. I still have 20 years left but don't want anyone limiting me. Seems like the young'ns are only worried about upgrading and "raking" in the big coin"......HA! that dream diminishes with each passing day......relax kids, your day will come....maybe.

Seriously, as long as doctors can crack me open like a lobster without age limits, why am I to be limited? The truth boils deep down in the darkness where common folks fear to tread-a majority of the lawmakers are AFRAID of the (mystery) of flying therefore, they attempt to control what they do not understand.

Completely baseless. Now where the hell did I put my geritol..............what was the question again?

Ninidiri---Must be nice collecting your first pension and now flying a CRJ for a paid hobby. Unlike you, I am working on my first career and getting the shaft by double dippers like you ######## this profession up.

And even if your not a double dipper-- why are you so interest in changing the established system that would hurt so many furloughed, junior, borderline captains, and borderline lineholders from getting what everyone that is wanting this to change now is pushing for.

Your the radicial pushing for the change! I am the old guard keeping the status quo and hoping nothing changes.

one thing is for sure-- in the coming years it will all change. status quo-fogetaboutit. besides you will need to fly til your 70 with all the pensions down the tube and the stock market making your crummy Co sponsored 401k 3% :)
 
lol :) I plan to be out of here before 60 anyway, so I couldn't care less about whether it gets raised. I'm just amused at your egotistical ranting about your B777 and how you have to save everyone from the old captains. Grow up, junior.

Yea, and I will be working as the captain when that old bsturd next to me dies. Plus right now, I have to watch these old bsturds like a hawk and point out all those items they are missing that threaten the flight because they are asleep at the wheel or just CANT REMEMBER WHAT THEY NEED TO DO THAT THEY FORGOT FROM SCHOOL OR JUST HEARD ON THE RADIO OR READ.

:angryfire I'm 35 and in no way whatsoever will I support this at all!

I've got 7 years in at the current place and by age 60 that means I will have 32 years in here alone. Uggh. I have no desire to work here until I'm 60. I plan on being out by 55 at the latest and if things go well, even earlier.

Worse, our company is taking into account the fact that we have so many upcoming retirements in its decision about staffing levels. If this gets through, in my opinion, it could very well mean furloughs.

Just say NO to GEEZERS!:D
