Back up Bush bashing? Give me a break!! There are too many to count how he has trampled the constitution. Warrentless wiretapping is just the tip of the iceberg. Turn off Fox News and read some real news.

Back it up or STFU. If you're going to call Bush a religious zealot on the same level as the Muslim fanatics who want to kill each and every American, THEN FU*KING PROVE IT.

No one said he hasn't done some things that are disagreeable. I approve of some of his moves, others I don't. I truly believe he's trying his best to protect the country, using whatever means are within his power to do so.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Bush-lover, the things he's doing on the Domestic scene trying to bring in drastically greater foreign ownership of airlines and his big-business leanings that end up being largely anti-labor, along with the continued destruction of the middle class American don't make me happy.

But that doesn't mean I believe that he's on some type of 'Mission from God' to destroy Islam, nor do I believe he's the worst President this country has ever had.

Read some history, there's several who have done FAR worse damage.

Remember Ben Franklin saying those that would give up Liberty and freedom for security deserve neither. Point well stated.

I didn't say we had to give up Liberty and Freedom. I'm the one who, about 2 pages back, said we have to accept some type of risk or face having our society changed into an unacceptable police-like state.

Go back and read again, actually THINK about what I said, then try responding. Again, bring proof for your statements about Bush. And yes, I mean FIRST-HAND, verifiable quotes from established news sources and/or congressional record. Otherwise it's just your OPINION (albeit one with no basis in established fact).

p.s. I don't read the USA Today or watch Fox News; I tend to read the WSJ and, if I watch any TV news at all, it's to catch the headlines without the commentary. More often than not I get most of my world news from the BBC. I don't need O'Reilly or anyone else to tell me what to believe. Just the facts, please.

It's lousy that the original intent of the letter had absolutly NOTHING to do with politics and now it's degraded to left v. right again.

I think it's important for Amercians to know that the PERSON to their right and left is willing to stand up for this country, defend it, and speak out against attacks on America and Americans. If not then I will question your motives no matter what your skin color or religion.

Because most of the attacks have been from Islamic countries and it's obvious there is alot of hate towards America comming from those very same places , I don't see an issue asking for a little more support from people from those counties and religons standing up for America if they live here. It benifits everybody. It will make those of us that are ignorant be less skeptical of someone due to skin color and religion while supporting the beliefs of those of us who are smarter.

America is a county, like it or not, and very many people on the outside hate us just because we live on this soil. We need to act like a country UNITED to fight this very real and dangerous threat. If you live on American soil you should be worried, no matter what your color, race, or religion. Let's all do what we can to become a UNIFIED deterrent and stop this politcal bickering. If we don't then I will be truly worried.
