Bushhatesyou said:You're right no one knows what is going on. Even if you come to training, get on line for a few months and then are furloughed, you are much more marketable then just the average CFI off the street.
Since no one knows what is going on, that means it could go either way. There is no point in getting worked up about anything untill they make an announcement in Sept.

SEVEN said:The writing is on the wall.....Stay far away from any airline that is loosing almost 70 airplanes. Guys are either living in the land of oz or are just dumb if they accept a job there. It is a complete waste of time, energy, and hard work.
BluDevAv8r said:You mean "losing" right? That said, CAL is removing 69 XJT planes from its network but that doesn't mean that XJT won't redeploy those airplanes elsewhere. If you were a CFI with nothing except an XJT offer, why stay as an instructor? Much better to get some 121 time and training...but hey, that's just me. Then again, I also don't think XJT will furlough 1 single pilot.

BluDevAv8r said:Sorry...there was a thread on the XJT pilot forum about "loose" versus "lose" so I figured some guys would pick up the inside joke. As to my ignorance...if you say so. The fact still remains...if I am airline B, I'd still rather furloughed pilot Bill from airline A rather than CFI Bill.
But if you want to make a bet as to the likelihood of XJT furloughs, why don't we each put money into a paypal account and then the winner can take his money out and the loser keeps his in...and it will then go to the charity of the winner's choosing. Game?
