I heard this RUMOR the other day, but I won't believe it until I see it. Plus I don't even believe UAL has made up their minds. If you've heard this rumor, where...I wonder if it's from the same source.

An ERJ 170 was airborne out of Brazil last Monday, Call sign was unclear but it was headed to SHV for a light dustiing of color.

This could be the rumor that was discussed in the halls. Hang on for Growth.

I don't have a dog in this fight but what airline would be so stupid as to buy an aircraft, have it painted and ready to but no pilots to fly it? I highly doubt it is going to XJT. Probably MDA, or CHQ.

Someone said the same thing about CHQ e-170 in delta colors before the Delta announcement was make. Stranger things have happened.

yeah but CHW already flew 170s fro United so there was a background in the aircraft and precedence.

XJT flying 170s for UAL I doubt it.

scuttlebutt.

I really hope we don't do this to the Air Wiskey guys. If we're gonna take someones flying i wish we'd just buy them. We don't have the pilots or the ability to finance the a/c to take their flying. JMO

I don't think it will be XJT flying the 170 for anyone anytime soon. I'm sure United doesn't want to finance those a/c and Mr. Ream has made it clear that with the current market the way it is he is not willing for ExpressJet to undertake new loans for a/c. Along with noone currently trained in the aircraft make it very hard to just hit the ground running sort of speak for Uniteds flying. But who knows.

nice dream....but believe it when you see it....

i hope we dont get the air wisconsin flying...great guys over there who shouldnt have to worry about their flying being underbid..if we do get the flying theres gonna be a lot more alpa brothers on the street looking for work and thats the last thing we need...lets just hope united was calling their bluff and they keep the flying they already have.

FINALLY! Thanks for the thought XJT145 and McPickle. So far all I heard was a bunch of excited people looking foreward to expansion while I looked for a new job.

Getting that bad over there , huh? Sure hope you guys can keep your current status with UAL!

Here's another XJT guy that is pulling for you guys. That is you flying and we want you to keep it, good luck.

Amen. I don't care to expand at the expense of others. You guys don't need a rally cry, so I'll spare you the raa-raa. I've heard that your management is doing everything possible to maintain the flying. FWIW............

Cant Air Wisky fix the ramping situation in ORD :)

Actually...it's improved since the low point about a year ago. I don't sit in the Penalty Box for 2+ hours anymore. There are always the little things (marshallers, water, commisary (which we don't control), etc..) but things have improved overall. Every operation will always have its challenges and we as pilots must be the go getters that make it happen. It's what we are paid for too. If I'm having problems on the ramp at ORD I can assure you I am in our flight manager's office pronto. Without that effort to try and improve rather than sit back and complain in the crew room we will never get it right.

I thought I was complaining to our manager too much actually and he thanked me for taking the time to try and change things. We have good people trying to deal with the cards we're handed.

There will almost be no way that XJT could take on Air Wis flying. With the expedited call backs to CAL, XJT is and will really be short on Capts for the March bid. Therefore it is doubtful that we could take on a whole bunch of flying for United. Also I am another pilot for XJT that hopes this does not happen to Air Wis.

Good Luck to the all Air Wis persons.

Isn't XJT under contract with CO that doesn't allow XJT to fly for anyother carrier but either XJT or CO. The truth is that I'm sure Air Wisconsin will keep their flying. It's only UAL trying to flex their muscles to lower their cost with Air Wisconsin and please their mainline unions to show everyone is doing their part.

Short answer: No. Longer answer: the capacity purchase agreement (CPA) only allows XJT to provide exclusive small jet feed for CAL until a certain date or it is renegotiated.

I don't feel as confident that Wisconsin is going to keep the UAL flying as I did a few weeks ago.

With all this talk about the "transition team" that United moved into ORD to "transition" to the new carrier, and Wisconsin starting their own "transition team"....doesn't sound good.

I wonder if they have a transition team in IAD as well.

Hooking your ACARS up should help you guys out with some of these problems. Hope you all keep the flying.

Not entirely correct. We can only provide feed to CAL using the a/c they lease to us and cannot compete with them in and out of the hubs, but we could legaly get other financing and fly into ORD or IAD. There is nothing preventing that situation in the CPA.

No need for one there. The Transition team you are hearing about is for the ground handling at ORD. Not necessarily the flight portion of our contract. At IAD ground handling is done by Delta Global Circus and I think their contract is longer than ZW's for ORD (it expires in September). I too was originally confident that we would keep our flying but after riding around in a CHQ E170 (nice ride) and learning how little they make I am dubious that UAL has any reason to keep us...

I'm with Steve on this one. I have no interest in AirWis flying. They're a strong pilot group who have done well for themselves and the rest of us. I would hate to think that my pilot group gained by putting those guys on the street.

I hope this rumor is untrue.

That's what I said. Clear as mud, huh?
