The negotiating committee met with management yesterday and management was willing to negotiate a non concessionary contract with improvements. Management wants this done by May and wants to take advantage of opportunities. Everyone was willing to start passing proposals, except the LXJT side. They said they won't be ready to negotiate until June.
LXJT former MEC chair is still involved and still delaying as before. He is trying to use the same tactics that CAL used during their SLI with United. The plan is to delay negotiations so as to delay the SLI. The hope is that the ASA side will park lots of 50 seaters and they will get a better award from the arbitrator. This has been verified by 3 different ASA MEC members and they are pissed.
This is a very dangerous game the LXJT MEC is playing.
