Ok, well, I blew it on the first interview when they said that I would be based at EWR and said no thanks. Times have changed now and my number 1 choice also said no thanks. I forget but I believe that the wait until I can reapply is three months. Can anyone confirm that or set me straight. Thanks.

What was your number 1 choice? You don't seem very convincing that XJT is where you really want to be.

Yeah three months to reapply. Where was your first choice?

Where did you think they would base you?

Don't apply to a company unless you want to work there! Generally at Xjet you wouldn't be in your non-preferred base for more than 3-6 months. While you can reapply my guess is you have blown your chance there. Guess what, next time you interview they will ask you the same question and know what your answer was the last time. So take the time to learn about the company before you apply.....

Back in the day, I was taught "Don't apply if you aren't willing to work anywhere they could base you."

I've flown with a couple of (not many) miserable FOs who bring the whole trip down because they have convinced themselves that their lives suck because they have to fly out of EWR. F'n waaaaaaahh.

We don't need any more whiney momma's boys and prissy girls here. Do you wonder why you were turned down by your "number 1 choice"?

I enjoy living in the Northeast and especially the flying out of EWR; you may find something good in it too.

Good luck, wherever you end up. Just try to appreciate and maybe even enjoy it while you can.

Thanks for confirming the three months. SkyWest was my number 1 but XJT is number 2. I am going to make the best of what I have.

I'd suggest applying to other carriers such as mesa, eagle, pinnacle, etc. The interview practice couldn't hurt and you're more likely to get picked up by skywest if you already work for another carrier

Why are they sending you away? 2 for 2 unsuccessful interviews. Is it the sim or the tech that's getting you?

ExpressJet doesn't have a sim....

Don't reapply here. Stay close to home. You'll just bail on us as soon as QX or SKW calls again. You'll suck up time, and training costs which will affect my profit sharing. I repeat, do not re-apply here.

Actually 1 for 3. I am sitting in a pool and swimming in water that is really deep.
First was the XJT interview in Feb. I did well in the jepp charts and tech. The HR was fine but I didn't want to go to EWR. That was a bad mistake. I would love to have that chance to say YES I LOVE NY.
Next was the airline I am in the pool with. Interviewed in April. Everything went great. I felt confident and excited to be there. After the sim, the person evaluating me said that that was the best he had ever seen. We did an arc, vor-dme approach, missed VOR hold and full procedure ndb. I felt good about the whole thing.
In may I did the SkyWest thing (my number 1 choice). The writtens were fine. I went over them about 4 times and changed two answers that were right. I went over the ATP and mechanical aptitude when i got back. I got a 88% on the ATP and 85% on the mech. The tech went ok. Had trouble on the indepth things of a turbine engine other things went fine. Sim was Awsome, held altitude within 50-100 feet the whole time. All procedures were fine I thought. I guess I got a 34 on that part, I saw my score. CRM was fine, the two guys I was with were cool and we worked it together. The letter said that I need more flight time and qualifications. Talked to Cassidy and said to call here when the 6 months are up. At SkyWest I had 2 friends (pilots) write letters of rec.
Just going to keep on plugging away.

I never got any scores at my skywest interview. 34 in the sim? I don't even remember the guy taking notes, let alone calculating a score. I thought it was either pass or fail. I don't know what to say but they hire plenty of people that bearly meet the mins. Try back in 6 months and bring the LOR's with you.
