Last week I got an email from XJT asking me if I were still interested, which interview dates, and what phone number they could reach me at...

10 days later, 4 of the 6 interview dates have passed and I have not heard a call back from them. I responded once again to the email about 3 days ago, and still nothing. Anyone else ever run into this? Do I dare call them?

/hates being serious on FI, but I need to get away from the 'monster.

It's not like we don't need pilots so keep on them. I've been seen all the interviewees last week and this week in the training center. There is no shortage of people showing up. How many are getting hired is another story all together...one whick I don't have answers to.

Got the reply, and an afternoon interview for the date I selected. I've heard things about being interviewed in the afternoon....people not having as much luck as the morning guys. Any truth?

Interview

Got the interview invite e-mail yesterday, e-mailed my reply but no phone call yet. Thought they were having trouble with losing most of their Check Airmen with no one to give IOE?

You will most likely never get a phone call, I never did. Just reply to the email and they will send you another email with your travel plans and what paperwork to bring to the interview. We are losing some check airmen, but not a crazy amount, they are hiring them constantly. We actually have plenty of check airmen in training sitting around waiting for their fed rides. There are only a few FAA guys who can give the rides.

I have an interview scheduled for May 2nd. Before I go to Houston, can anyone give me any information on where the new hires are getting based and what the 1st year actual pay average is broken down monthly. How long are the upgrades if you come in with over 3000 total and over 1000 hours of turbine PIC? I would greatly appreciate if anyone can help answering any of these questions. PM me if you would like. Thanks in advance.

From what i have heard newhires are going to LAX ONT and SAT. That will surely be changing though. Lots of spots in the current CAL bases will start opening as FOs are upgrading out of CAL hubs and going to the others. First year pay-i will let others answer that because i dont remember. Upgrade is only on seniority for the most part because the only real requirements we have here are ATP mins. Upgrade right now is 2 years and has been pretty steady there. Supposedly will be dropping below that though. We shall see.

I know Xjet is supposed to be a great regional, I wasnt impressed with the HR/interview process at all though. I to got the email with a list of dates. Replied same day and didnt hear anything as the weeks went by. About a month later I received an email with flight confirmation and interview info, 36 hours before the fact! I replied with a thanks but no thanks due to another job offer. How hard is it too make a phone call to invite people to interviews? Didnt give me a good vibe about the company at all.

I can see your point, but try to see it from the other side. They are hiring like mad. I'm over 800 deep after 16 months of employment. Its got them overwhelmed. What other airline has hired 800+ pilots in the last 18 months and has a smoother hiring process?

Good for them, but if they can't handle the workload they need to increase the size of the HR staff. It's ridiculous to give someone a day and a half notice to travel across the country for an interview. Email communication is great and all, but they have to keep in mind that if the applicant is currently employed elsewhere, they're probably not sitting in front of their computers waiting for every email that comes in.....it may be days or a week or more before they can check it.

I am not suprised to be reading this. The HR dept is down to one person! Patience is the key right now at XJT. Staffing will be lean all summer!
