as for republic having options on tons of 170/190s do you really think that makes one bit of difference. Tons of companies have options...hell AE has options for 25 CRJs...25 CRJs they will never ever see.

I could be wrong but it sounds like you would have a hard on if CAL got the 170's...I for one think its great that they aren't flying anything bigger than 50 seats. As fuel prices keep going up up up I think every bit of fuel savings will be huge but yes I agree the ejets are way more comfortable. I could have mis read your comment entirely for which...don't hate.

No hard on here, depending on how Slow I fly the 170 I can keep the burn #'s in line with the CRJ. I just liked flying for CAL they treated us right and unless I take a 65% pay cut to go fly for Clogan I won't be flying 70 seats for them.

Leroy, when we first started flying the 170 some of the FO's had a mainline type attitude toward us lowely 50 seat drivers. Over the years it has been a running joke when we see a "mainline" A/C.

This sounds nice but it's just fantasy. As far as the reverend...he's praying that CAL will release scope and he can come in with 170-195's. I don't know, no pilots at RAH want anyone to lose their jobs. But we do have options on a boatload of 170/190 airframes in Brazil and management is acting like there is something big in the mix.

"CAL will release scope"..............what are you talking about? Do you know how that works? If you think that this is not on the radar at CAL and somehow the pilots would give in to scope relief you have got things very confused.

There will be no scope relief. You CHQ guys need to get a grasp of that concept. Scope relief has not even been discussed as an option nor has CAL mgt approached the CAL pilot group to request relief.

Aint gonna happen. CHQ my indeed be flying CAL brand for years to come, I could care less, it just wont be in anything larger than 50 seat jets. The CAL pilot were burned so severely last time around with RJ's its a huge issue there. Not a single pilot I know at CAL wants anything to do with more RJ's or SJ's...............

I had heard rumors of this "mainline" talk at RP/S5, but I thought it was just a couple of clueless F/As or new-hires. The smiley denotes some irony or sarcasm.......right??
Mainline talk is a joke. There is no intention of going out on our own especially with fuel the way it is. Mainline is a joke because of some new FAs who thought CHQ was the regional for RP. During her announcements she kept calling RP mainline.

He didn't say they were going to release scope. He said that management was hoping they were.

The only Decision that Jim Ream made that worked out was the dollar beer on branded flights. His stubborn lack of vision for the future regarding additional airframes from the 170 to props has led xjt down the road they are currently on. Managements arrogance regarding the cpa during the first set of a/c that was eventually removed has set the stage for xjt difficult struggles.

Jim Ream is going to have a difficult time explaining to its share holders the loss of millions on branded that eventually will be abandoned.
