Well Ben, thats your "take" on things. (and with a name like BEN DOVER, we all know how you like to take it anyway). Fact is, if the SW deal went through, which it couldn't without the UNION PILOTS allowing it, some 700+/- ExpressJet pilots would have been without jobs.
You guys are such a joke with your BS statements, thrown around without any real knowledge of the details.

That's sort of why I thought you guys would be better off tying your ship to Skywest. While things are far from perfect, the company has never furloughed pilots, and has really been the most secure regional in the last 30+ years.

But hey, your pride is in tact now that the buyout threat is gone. Revenues are going down now that CAL has struck a cheaper deal with you. Hopefully for you things will work out in the next seven years. If not, atleast you have your pride right?

The SKW deal is worse than what XJT has now even if there are concessions coming down the road. The SKW deal had more than 700 pilots being furloughed AND concessions down the road to remain "cost competative" in order to keep the CAL flying because otherwise SKW would transfer 5 aircraft a month over to SKW creating more furloughs with only the possibility of preferential interviews at SKW for the same job at the same company but at first year pay.

i think some of you guys should have went the management road....some reallllllllllllllllllllll smart guys we have here...

why doesnt everyone just worry about whats going on at there company.

Skywest said that XJT PILOTS WOULD be furloughed and NO guarantees of no further layoffs. XJT would have been screwed by Skywest and would have been expected to like it.

The only thing Skywest succeeded in doing was forcing lower rates for all regional CPAs. When XJT offers a lowball offer for YOUR flying then blame Skywest - the new bottom feeder of the industry.

I talked to a friend at XJT just a bit ago and he says there isn't as much jubilation and excitement since there is still talk of furloughs of about 300 pilots inspite of this new CAL agreement. Also he said XJT still may encounter liquidity problems down the road since they bid very low for this deal just to keep the flying.

I'd say just the opposite. I think there is a sense of relief over here, even amongst pilots who may get the ax. It's been unusually quiet, even with the CPA announcement. I'm thinking we still might get some flying from another legacy...

Also, for those who are saying we bid "very low"...well, our bid is high enough to continue an industry leading contract and pay. This is "our flying"; we never underbid anybody else for the right to keep what has been ours.

i don't have a dog in this fight, but technically it is CAL's flying. just like any major, they can give it and take it away from one regional to give to another. this is just how regional flying is and will always be.

Yes.................you FKing coward!

CAL gave XJT alot of freedom and security with the new deal. They now allow xjt to fly for another carrier without giving the same rates as CAL, It allows XJT to fly into CAL hubs, and it made it to where CAL couldnt cancel the CPA without cause. they may have taken less on the rates but they secured security for the company and freedom to move forward that they didnt have in the past with other carriers.
