How did the interviews go yesterday in Houston. Still waiting for someone to do a gouge on Aviation interviews. How many people came and how many hired! Thanks

I interviewed and was hired, I dont know the total number hired as they were hiring some into a class on the 14th and some into a class on the 21st. The people for the class on the 14th filled out paperwork, I think it was 8, maybe, I was the last one in that group and some were already done with paperwork. Dont know how many others got hired or didnt get hired as once your done with the HR, you dont go back in the holding tank, you just leave, or do paperwork. There were like 14 or maybe 18 total, not sure, didnt count. The gouge on aviation interviews for past interviews is still spot on, so nothing to add on that front.

Congratulations! Welcome to XJT!

I know quite a few people who have interviewed and got hired by XJT in the past year. My question is how can they be hiring so many numbers and running classes so frequently? I know they have 250+ planes. Is attrition that big over there. P.S. all the people I talk to love it over there. Good luck.

From what I hear they are constantly losing guys, but only for bigger and better, like SWA, CAL, and FED EX, unlike my company where people are leaving in droves to go ANYWHERE

Supposedly not as many people are going to CAL as it would seem. CAL is hiring a bunch of people though and with something like 50% of their pilots to be retired by 2010 they will need to hire lots. Talked with a newhire CAL pilot on the bus to the airport yesterday and she said that her and one other classmate could hold the 777 by either Dec. of this year or Jan 07, thats movin up quick(unless its an undesireable airplane in the CAL system).

Yeah the 777 is somewhat undesireable right now because of the amount of deadheading you will do at 50% pay (thanks to the latest concessionary contract at CAL).

A lot of the hiring is due to the fact that there is about to be another HUGE batch of our pilots that earn additional vacation time very soon.

True, but if you are on reserve it's unlikely you will break min garaunty anyway so it makes it kind of a moot point.

Interviewed on the 3rd. There was 19 in the morning group. I think 8 or 9 got it. Really wasn't as hard as I had prepared for. Personality is key. Don't know about the afternoon group. Some were finished and getting drug tested with the morning group as they did not have the paperwork to fill out then. I think I saw 4 from the afternoon group. Looked like they started with around 10. Congrats to all. See you on the 14th or 21st.
