Okay, so out of the blue a Jet is brought into St. George for a charter? That's gonna be a long busride to LAS to get them all back out. This scenario is not likely.

However, someone will know the truth and post it here.

Is there a college up there in SGU that is still in the NCAA tourney (male or female)?? If so then that is a pretty good reason why XJT was there.

Or perhaps they were there to hammer out a deal with Jerry about XJT buying out the Skywest empire before JO at Mesa can get it........

Who says I am bored and who says I am on duty? If only I had a nickle for everytime I heard a pilot think he'xhe was better than someone else based solely upon the amount of stripes on their sleeve.

Also, the only college around here with a Div. II status is Southern Utah University in Cedar City. So, it wouldn't make sense to drop the team off here instead of CDC.

It's more likely that Jerry will buyout XJT. SKYW has a history of buying out the competition. Now that XJT has the LAX flying, Jerry is probably interested in XJT. I'm sure he would rather have XJT than Comair.

We already had this discussion. They're going to Virgin America.

Jerry is buying a majority stake in Virgin, and is going to pull ASA out of ATL and use them as a feeder. The XJET in SGU is just a red herring. The CEO of XJET and Jerry "did lunch" to slap each other on the back for the huge bonuses they'll get for covering Delta's ass in LAX when the airport authority told them to use the gates or lose them.

Just announced on SWOL. SkyWest to operate LAX-PDX route for Delta. Flying between two non-Delta SkyWest hubs. How is this possible? And why didn't XJet get that route instead? Peculiar.

Then it wouldn't be a charter out of SGU. I don't believe SGU is authorized for 121 operations in aircraft with more than 30 seats due to taxiway wingtip clearance issues. Or something to that effect...

Sorry to kill any conspiracy theory rumors here but...
XJet owns a paint shop in Saltillo, Mexico. That aircraft was just picked up from SLW and, after clearing customs in Laredo, TX, was taken up to SGU to show off the paint shop work (paintjob) to SkyWest. My guess is it's an attempt to drum up business for the paint shop. That aircraft is now in ONT ready for the April 2 start-up.

So, you're saying that Uncle Jerry is looking to fly an aircraft to Mexico to get painted when he couldn't get the certification needed to fly 121 Ops into Mexico to begin with? Now that's the funniest thing said on this thread yet.

And, yes, I know that LAX is a Delta hub. But LAX and PDX are United Express hubs for SkyWest not Delta. SkyWest already flies a UnitedExpress route LAX-PDX. So how would SkyWest fly a LAX-PDX route with a Delta aircraft and not ruffle some feathers over at United?

Nothing, really. I just found it to be ironic. I guess there is some weight to this story. The rumor mill says Mexico can do the paint in 5 days less time as well. I still find it strange that XJet would bring that plane all the way to St. George just to show off a paint job though.
