How 'bout this for kicks and giggles at Friday's court hearings.....

http://www.grandforks.com/mld/grandforks/13933564.htm

" Mesaba Airlines wants its bankruptcy judge to clear the courtroom when its executives testify about the finances of the regional feeder carrier for Northwest Airlines.

The Star Tribune newspaper said it will fight the secrecy request. Federal Bankruptcy Judge Gregory Kishel is scheduled to rule on the issue on Friday, when a hearing opens on Mesaba's request to void its labor contracts with its pilots, flight attendants and mechanics."

More interesting info from the Star-Trib...

http://www.startribune.com/535/story/261888.html

"It also wants to restrict public access to financially sensitive testimony to be given by John Spanjers, Mesaba president; Thomas Schmidt, Mesaba's vice president of finance; Hien Cao, Mesaba's director of strategic planning, and Bryan Ebensteiner, a Northwest executive who handles its regional airline relationships."

Dunno 'bout the rest of you, but I had no idea there was any strategic planning at Mesaba! And when did they outsource the job to Asia?

Hien Cao-isn't that where rump roast comes from?

What is Jinglepants afraid of us keeping tally on the number of "moving forward" "49 Saab airline" "Clearly" and "UM's" he can say in one hour without making one point. Perhaps it is just to save us from another Billy Madison moment. "At no point in your rambling did you ever show a coherent thought. We have all become dumber for having listened to this. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul" (I know it's not exact It's been a while)

They probably won't know what to do with it though.

A company with $120 million in cash has one of their subsidiaries in BK. Now who is it that doesn't know what to do with financial data?

The union will have access to the info. They probably won't know what to do with it though.
You missed the point.

"It is their burden to show that this is information that really deserves protection," said Borger, an attorney with Faegre & Benson in Minneapolis. "The fact that they would rather not have it out in the general public is not enough to give them legal protection. They have to do more."

The Star Tribune is filing an OBJECTION. This story is about the FIRST AMENDMENT.

What's to hide anyway? You would think that if Mesaba was really serious about getting the unions to come to consensus, they would be a little more forthright.
