I have to say that that one struck me in the gut a little. I guess we are in bad shape, eyh?? When I leave I will have a picket sign in my hand freezing my arse off...

Not beating my chest, mind you. But, "burn it down."

Phone survey

Did anyone else get the survey call sponsered by the union?

Basically it was all kinds of questions about how well Mesaba/MAIR are handling the BK situation.

Lots of questions about how much of a cut in wages and benefits would you take etc.

Yep, I got it.

The MEC is going to be giving concessions so they can keep their jobs. The only question is how much.

I can't afford to keep working here with our "raises" vs. insurance premiums, inflation, etc.....at the same time watching my union widdle away even more.

If I only knew...

I used to think, "why would anyone want to go to American Eagle? I hear upgrade time is 6-7 years..." Little did I know... If I'd known this, I'd much rather have gone to Eagle. To think that Mesaba once was a very respectable place to work. Better give management some bonus money for making it what it is today. What an enormous waste of time Mesaba Aviation has been...

not one cent.

I hope you're right. But unfortunately this is the real world. I predict 8-10 % pay cuts across the board. I can tell you right now, I doubt the Mesaba MEC will call for a strike. It's time for a new job or a pay cut.....simple as that. The writings on the wall.

Seven,

You are dead wrong! The MEC will call for a strike when and if the judge throws our contract out.

Yup, I got it.

I hope you guys responded "NOT ONE CENT!"

At the end of my chat with Wilson Polling the guy asked if I had any additional comments. I asked him if he would be taking down my comments verbatim, he said yes and I finished the phone pole be saying:

NOT ONE CENT!

BTW, I placed my vote on the ballot - I favor a STRIKE!

Does Wilson Polling come up as Wilson Center on caller id? I would have answered the phone but I thought it was the student loan people calling for money.

My cell caller ID came up as "1 301 306 xxxx"

Seven,
hope your wrong but, if not I'll be looking at a new job, maybe not even in the industry. Already took a 31% cut getting shoved back to fo, and can't afford to make any less.
