Here's the new quote at XJ:

" If management doesn't care, why should we"

Message from Management to all XJ Rampers:

"Plesase keep giving terrible service to 9E so we can get some more of that Delta flying! PLEASE have them sit 20 minutes waiting for a push after the door closes and at least that long staring at a gate to be parked. Thank you."

Do not forget the scope language restrictions of 76 seat aircraft for narrowbody growth at NWA...or is it Delta now. They are not just going to dump a bunch of 900's somewhere that has a scope restriction. Will Delta's scope language now trump NWA's language? Just curious.
Also, I read that Delta is going to 600 regionals....(aircraft) from 800 or so right? Can someone post this info from the source?

This is of course all speculation....but what is to stop the bypassing NWA scope with 70-120 seat jets, flying on NWA routes, under Delta code share?

It can be true that Delta is going from 800 to 600 jets by getting rid of 50 seaters and replacing them with fewer jets in the 70-120 seat range.

From my perspective these are the opening shot's of the consolidation battle. The shell's are falling (hear the whistle?) At this level all y'all can do is continue to go about your business and hope a shell does not land in the fox hole you are taking cover in.

As long as they are operated under the delta paint scheme, they can go to 255 which is 60-70 more Large 76 seat RJ's...

This is where everyone is getting there info.

I'm sorry to say it guys but your flying will eventually go to the lowest bidder. Plain and simple. It might not happen for a year or two, but how bad do you want the flying? That is why it sucks being at a regional. The musical chairs will never stop.

I forgot about this, I love it......

Hang on guys it not friday yet. I guess its time to get back to bad news fridays again. I love this company

Okay, lets just say the company will run on auto pilot for the year or so it takes for approval. which by the way can only be blocked by the justice department (which is ran by corporate loving bush-screw the small guy our pres).

That its assured that all regionals are now looking at their status boards and hoping they are better or as good as the others. I know this for a fact. That they cannot tell us anything, give us any notion of job security, since I am sure they themselves do not know (regional bosses). That what was said was, if you look at it from a business point of view, was all they could have said. (Legally) Do not expect a compassionate "your job is safe"

That its more than likely that some old aircraft will be parked in favor of more fuel efficient ones.....common sense 101. That the domestic route structure will be squeezed, making the new airline more efficient and raising ticket prices to levels which are more in tune with todays world-not like we are now, which is more like 10 years ago.

Who will come out ahead? Delta pilot for one, management for sure, and maybe a couple regionals will grow-

who will not come out ahead? NWA pilots are not going to be happy, Mesaba pilots i am sure will lose the flow-Comair has always been a step child-

what should we do? Not hate other regional pilots for something management is throwing at us. period

In recurrent last week, MN from the MEC said that they've been working hard with NWA ALPA regarding possible merger scenarios. In those talks, the XJ flow was a high-ticket item that they're expending lots of effort to retain. Of course anything can happen, but we might not be shot down just yet.

I'm sorry to say it guys but they already know where the flying is going, and have known for quite awhile. These guys work about 3 years ahead of what you are dealing with on a day to day basis. There is no reason for us to undercut or bash any other group, the decision is already made, and we have no control over it.

Right on, Murf, only I would amend your post to 5 years, instead... Buckle up folks.

Relax dude, Mesaba gets the same crap service, besides it helps everyones paycheck.

Everyone just needs to put some money a side, keep the resume updated and chill the f**** out. Not only b/ of this merger issue, but b/c we work for the airlines. 2 years ago no one knew if Mesaba was going to make it, and look at what happened. Mesaba got new 900's and now it's been the place to be. Things change rapidly. Just keep enjoying your jobs, plan for the worst and hope for the best.

I would agree. Time to get out if you can. No flame, I love my old XJ buddies. I have kept up with my friends and contacts at both Delta and NWA and the NWA family is going to get the sh!t end of the stick.

Good Luck Guys and Gals.

PM me if you need info about NJA. Be warned the line is very long. I've heard 10,000 resumes on file. However, hire to go on for at least nextseveral years.
