You're still looking to fill those same CFI positions? Or are these new ones? I actuallly gave a guy a link to this thread.

If you're still looking for those same positions, then you're definitely not paying enough....
 
Don't be so sure. Numbers don't lie. Add up all the 121 retirements in the next 5 years. Try and fill those spots with new commercial/cfi tickets being issued by the FAA. You come up way short every time. What does that mean? It's called the law of supply and demand. The demand for qualified pilots will reach critical mass shortly resulting in increased compensation. That's how it works. It's not rocket science. It's simple addition and subtraction.

I remember talk of a pilot shortage years ago.

There is only a shortage of American pilots who will work for a given wage.

I can easily see airlines getting visas for huge numbers of foreign pilots, just like in medicine, IT, etc.

No shortage.
