That depends. If you're a fresh CFI, thats exactly what you need to do in order to advance into an entry-level airline job. Its a stepping stone process.

Preview to a pilot/cfi shortage? One can only hope for all our benefit. I need to make up for that 15k/year Chief CFI salary back in 2001 when I worked 12 hours a day for poverty wages while teaching folks how to fly planes. My freaking plumber makes $90/hr for replacing well tanks!!! Huge problem in this industry that has needed an overhaul for years!!! Time to turn the tables for once.

Don't be so sure. Numbers don't lie. Add up all the 121 retirements in the next 5 years. Try and fill those spots with new commercial/cfi tickets being issued by the FAA. You come up way short every time. What does that mean? It's called the law of supply and demand. The demand for qualified pilots will reach critical mass shortly resulting in increased compensation. That's how it works. It's not rocket science. It's simple addition and subtraction.

Not any second....in the next 2 years. Remember age 65? That has caused a tremendous amount of stagnation in the industry. The "natural" order of things was derailed when that law was passed. Thank God the time is almost up for the 5 year retirement delay to come to a much needed end. You have know idea how quickly things are going to change in the next 18-24 months....and that's just the beginning; the tip of the iceberg. Just wait...you'll see soon enough.

How part-time is part time?
Do you have some sort of reliable schedule that we can plan around?
If the boss-man gets an itch do you need to drop everything and go or are you on a schedule with hard days off?

Looking for at least one if not two before the end of the year.

You are wrong. It does not always work that way. There can be great demand and no increase in wages -

There will be a pilot shortage and as a result there will be great demand for pilots to fill what are still low paying crap jobs.

Nice one UAL driver......
Wages start at $25/hr flight and ground and 401K eligible after 9 months.
I think that's pretty decent pay.
Can expect to make 30K+ in your first year.
