Worst of the major runways??

There is a thread on the most difficult airport on FI. But "Occams Razor", mentioned the roughest single runway in his post (DTW 21L).

I agree DTW 21L is top 10. IAD 30/12 was pretty rough before the repave. Alot of the Bahama strips are very rough because of the type of runway material they are built with.

So which airport do you guys/ gals think has the single worst- roughest, broken pavement, biggest hump, etc runway of the major airports we fly into?

The first couple thousand feet of 31L @ JFK (includes the displaced threshold). It'll make you seasick.TC

The same for 4L at Newark (KEWR). You just about get your fillings knocked out on takeoff.

Some of the things I've witnessed at DTW regarding 21L:

ATC: "NW 114, say again. Your transmission was broken."
NW: "So is this runway! I said we'll make the high-speed."

My F/O singing on roll-out just to hear his voice chopping as we clatter along. "S-s-s-om-m-m-e encha-a-a-n-n-n-ted e-e-even-n-n-ing!"

Unknown corp jet after roll-out: "Hey Ground, ATIS says rain ended at 23. When did the mortar attack end?"

SWA: "Tower, SW 1291, Pirep"
Twr: "Go ahead"
SWA "Continuous moderate, occasional severe"
Twr: "Where was that"
SWA: "On 21L"

Runway 10 at SJU is awful, rough as h-ll. Smoothest runway? I'd put in a good word for runway 29 at OAK.

Anybody else remember the last ~1000 feet of taxiway leading up to 22R in BOS? Before they put the concrete strips in?

I'd never gotten seasick on a taxiway before I ran into that one. Ughh.

SDQ is pretty bad, especially the hump towards the one end. Some airports I flew into Africa were just as bad or worse, especially if wet.

I second 4L at KEWR... we had the nosewheel oleo strut bottoming out as we were bouncing along on the takeoff roll.

I think they can't fix it because there's only one runway and it'd cease all operations.
